Description
Founded in 2011, Geaghan Bros. Brewing Co. is the family owned and operated microbrewery part of the iconic Geaghan’s Pub Family of businesses.
At the turn of the century, there were well over 2000 breweries in the United States. Many of them were small, serving a restaurant, a neighborhood, a city, or a region. American breweries produced a wide variety of styles - pale ale, pilsner, strong ale, brown ale, porter, steam beer, and more. American brewing was a culture as varied and vibrant as the culture of America itself, invigorated by immigrants and the beer and food traditions they brought with them.
With these traditions and history in mind, GBB is proud of our craft and producing quality, local beer.

Deep brown. Chocolate, sweet malt, light citrus. A bit of dough. A nice brown but I could use less citrus.

Draft at Bar Harbor Beerworks in Bar Harbor, Maine. Clear mahogany color with an off-white head. Only 6.0 ABV but it's not hidden at all. Too strong. Too medicinal. Bad batch?

Pours a dark amber, nearly copper from a tap. Caramel and pine aroma, soapy bitter flavor with a bit of a toffee backbone. Bit of a muddle. Meh.

Poured into a mug, the appearance was a semi-dark brown color with a finger’s worth of white foamy head that dissipated at a moderate pace. Stringy lace.
The aroma had some sweet to roasty nuts, milk chocolate, touch of coffee beans and a rounded earthy hop spice at the end.
The flavor blended fairly nice between all of the prior mentioned aromas and added a little bit of citrusy bitter to sweet hoppiness. Roughly touches the aftertaste and grips the finish with a little bit of hop abrasion.
The palate was almost medium bodied with a crisp almost sessionable sort of feel to it. Carbonation was a bit lower than expected. ABV felt fine.
Overall, if that carbonation was pulled up just a bit more, I wonder if the hop abrasion wouldn’t be as harsh as it was. But the aromas and flavors came across really well.

Poured into a mug, the appearance was a black color with a thin white foamy head that dissipated at a nice pace. Moderate lace.
The aroma had some coffee roast. Sweet grains, slightly like oats. Balancing milk chocolate.
The flavor leans to the sweet side and gently allowing some roast to come in for the balance. Sly roasty aftertaste and finish.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a fair sessionability about it. Moderate carbonation. Nice smoothness on my tongue.
Overall, nicely done oatmeal stout that I could come back to.

Bottle pour into nonic pint glass from Spruce Creek Provisions. Appearance is clear, golden-orange, with nice sparkle, finger-width off-white foamy head with decent retention and nice lacing. Aroma is grassy, herbs, floral over malt base. Taste is sweet floral, fruity, light malt with mild dank, resin bitter ending. Palate is medium bodied with thin-to-average texture, average carbonation and balance of sweet malt and bitter finish. Overall, fair complexity in aroma and taste, with gorgeous appearance.
