Can from Jmgreenuk cheers John; clear golden yellow pour with a creamy off white head, aroma has corn, taste has sweet malts, dried grass, a bit basic should’ve taken this to London. --- Beer merged from original tick of Dai Viet Lager on 05 Aug 2016 at 21:52 - Score: 5

Can shared thanks to Jmgreenuk. Clear golden with a short lived off white head. Aroma of light caramel, malt and cereal notes. Flavour is a over light sweet and light bitter. Light bodied with light moderate carbonation.

Can at Caps ’n Taps, Hanoi. Poured a clear straw colour with a frothy white head. The aroma is light floral hop. The flavour is light bitter with a malty, yeast, medicinal, floral hop palate. Light bodied with lively carbonation. Truly awful. What was the brewer thinking when he created this? I’d rather drink a pint of battery acid. Seriously, these guys in Asia need to see the world a little and book themselves on a brewing course. Yuk, Yuk and Yuk some more!

From a can. It said that this should be the only dark beer in Vietnam. Pours brownish, not much foam. Not much aroma to speak about, soft and sweetish caramel. Taste is also similarly simple, actually not bad but drinks very smooth, has none of roast bitterness or any other flavours I usually associate with dark beers. I guess that I could enjoy this more in hot climate, maybe in Vietnam?

Can at Craig’s. It pours deep brown with a small beige head. The nose is sweet, caramel, liquorice, dried fruits, toasty and dull smoke. The taste is bitter-sweet, caramel, toasty, toasty and some acidity with a dry finish. Light+ body and fine carbonation. Fairly 1D but ok.
