Bottled December 2015, shared by Brian on 10/15/16.
Medium-sized, tan head tops a dark, ebony-to-mahogany body with good clarity. Retention is moderate to low.
Mushrooms, meat, peanuts and light soy in the nose with a hint of spoiled milk. All the things you want in an Imperial Stout....Not sure what the impetus for wanting to age their mid-gravity, thin stout was, but here you have it. Granted, that’s not the problem here, rather, something seems infected or very off.
The flavor confirms. Bitter, sour notes mix with coffee and light chocolate. Spoiled milk, raisins and caramel atop a very thin body, with low carbonation. Spicy, strong bourbon notes heat up the flavor and exacerbate whatever has gone wrong here. Astringent oak on the finish. Yikes.

Dark mahogany-to-ebony body shows an indetermined clarity with a tan head atop showing moderate retention.
Chocolate and plentiful coffee mix about in the nose as caramel and vanilla balance the equation fairly deftly. Light earthiness, hints of prune and raisin but fairly dominant in the chocolate-caramel department with no alcohol and a lingering coffee character.
Medium-bodied with chocolate and light coffee notes, hints of plum, raisin and soft vanilla. Caramel sweetness is moderate and the carbonation a bit loose. No flaws, I don’t think, but it’s a little lackluster all-around. Seems very dull and the texture and carbonation are thin and loose.

Dark brownish red. Aroma is a little difficult to manage since we’re cooking but it has a nice sweetness. cocoa, thin despite the big head, it actually has a medicinal maybe turpentine flavor at the end. Creamy, coffee with a little licorice.

Bottle thanks to Willrunforbeer. December 2015 bottling. Dark brown in color, very thin head. Aroma is light oak and very mild dark fruit. The oak barrel aging didn’t really seem to improve anything here. I find that this "bourbon" has thinned out the stout making it more Tanic than anything. I tried to like this.
