Cloudy amber. Flowery, a bit yeasty aroma. Weakbodied - a bit more fruit and power would have been nice.

Sampled at brewery. Color of muddy water - half a week or so of additional lagering would not have hurt, bad head retention. Nice banana and clove with a good full body. Not quite up to par with the weizenbocks I have become used to here in Bavaria, but not bad either.

GABF 2002: Subtle campfire aroma. Bright orange color. Nice malt upfront and a decent campfire flavor. Not overly smoky. Somewhat watery finish.

Amber-brown in colour. Salty, malty, sourish & smokey. Complex, but falls short of the on the malt if comparing to the Bamberg version.

A bit dark for a pils. Nice almost medium body, with good head. I found it rather dry, like a North German pils. Quite drinkable. An excellent choice for a pils.

Amber color, but lightish. Smooth but lightish body. Sweetish aroma with a little caramel hint. Flavor is slightly toffeish and caramel - but understated. Has all the hints of a great marzen but at slight quantities.

This had the appearance and name of a dark lager, but totally tasted like a dark english ale: buttery diacetyl out the wazoo. A bit out of place in a German lager. Still, it was really nice tasting. Brownish red color with lasting white head. Sweetish toffeeish buttery aroma.
