From bottle at Winterbierfestival Gouda 2016. Clear, dark reddish brown with a thin, frothy, tan head. Sweetish-malty, slightly sourish, fruity aroma of raisins, red grapes, some oak and dark chocolate. Sweetish-malty, slightly sourish, fruity taste of red grapes, some oak, dark chocolate and coffee, followed by a short, slightly tart finish. Medium body, slightly fizzy mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Nice!

From bottle at Winterbierfestival Gouda 2016. Clear, dark amber with a thin, frothy, tan, layer. Sweetish-malty, spicy aroma of raisins, brown sugar, red grapes, some oak and caramel. Sweet, malty, spicy, slightly sourish taste of raisins, brown sugar and caramel, followed by a medium long, yeasty-spicy finish. Medium to full body, creamy mouthfeel, flat. Nice!

Bottle sample at PINT Winterbierfestival ’16. Black colour, beige head. Aroma of spirit, hard roasted malts, bitter, ash, light tart, leather. Flavour is bitter, roasted malts, ash, leather, alcohol, light sour note, bitter finish, yeast. No sherry detected. Light to medium bodied, excessively carbonated, really unpleasant.

Bottle sample at PINT Winterbierfestival ’16. Amber-brown colour, light-beige head. Aroma is sweet, brown sugar, more sugar, hint of dark fruits, plastic. Flavour is likewise, really lacks depth and flavour. Medium bodied at best, a bit over-carbonated.

Thank you for sharing people! 330 ml. bottle sampled @ “Gouda Winterbier Festival 2016”. Dark red brown with a tanned head. Nose is roasted umami overly sweet & syrupy coffee grounds,… Fizzy herbal thin, dull chocolate, herbs, not getting much barrel. Thin & boring fizzy herbal body & beer. Expected more after seeing the name.

Thank you for sharing people! 330 ml. bottle sampled @ “Gouda Winterbier Festival 2016”. Deep red amber with only a few tanned bubbles. Nose is overly sweet sludgy syrup, sweet, sugar, dark fruits.Taste is massively sweet sugar, cereal, candy, sugar, brown sugar, caramel, dark fruits,… Body is just sugar. Excessively sweet & not much else. Okay.

Pint Winterbierfestival, Gouda 2016. Gedeeld met de hele clan! Ik zit nu in de trein te raten, maar ik had beter bier kunnen blijven drinken, tsjeezus ... Lang leve de ns.... Caramel met fijne licht kaki lacing. Aroma van alcohol, graan, wat fruit, zoet. Smaken evenzo. Pruim, alcohol, donkere fruiten, zacht, smooth, medium body, maar wat blijft hangen is een woord.... Marshmallow. Verder best wel ok

0.33 l bottle from ’Tabak’s Wijndiscount & Bierwinkel’ at 6.5% abv, best before February 2017. Clear, golden yellow with a huge, foamy, stable, white head. Sweetish, fruity-spicy aroma of ginger, apricot, clove and some vanilla. Sweetish, yeasty-spicy, slightly fruity taste of clove, ginger, apricot and some vanilla, followed by a medium long, yeasty-spicy, peppery and rather bitter finish. Medium body, effervescent mouthfeel, lively carbonation. Quite nice, resembles their ’Zonnegloed’.
