The Calabogie Brewing Co. opened in the town of Calabogie, Ontario in 2015, and has since added a second location an hour away in Kanata. Both locations feature a brewery, kitchen & taproom, and are a celebration of the beauty and spirit of Calabogie, and the spectacular land and people on which it was founded.
Born into a home of rich history and pride, The Calabogie Brewing Company is proud to serve the local area with an unrivalled passion and love for craft beer.

A lightly hazed blonde pilsner with a thin white head. In aroma, nice biscuit malt with German grassy hops, light mineral notes, very classic. In mouth, a nice biscuit malt with loads of German hops, light mineral notes, very nice and smooth. On tap at Brewery Market Ottawa, sept 2017.

A murky yellow blonde ale with a thin lacing white head. In aroma, nice biscuit malt with resinous floral hops, grapefruit pulp, nice and smooth. In mouth, a nice biscuit malt with resinous floral hops, grapefruit pulp, light lemony notes, nice and refreshing summer quaffer.

A hazed blonde ipa with a thin white head. In aroma, sweet fruity malt with resinous floral hops, grapefruit pulp, banana esters, nice and smooth. In mouth, a nice sweet fruity malt with light grassy hops, resinous and piney notes, banana esters, cloves, light mineral notes, very nice. On tap at Craft beer market, Ottawa.

A deep dark stout with a thin brown head. In aroma, sweet chocolate malt with light grassy hops, light bean notes, grassy hops, OK. In mouth, a nice sweet chocolate malt with light coffee notes, light bean notes, grainy character, light mineral notes, alcohol warmth, pleasant. Bottle at Chuck and April’s Cellar Tasting.

A deep dark stout with a thin brown head. In aroma, sweet fruity chocolate malt with light dark fruits, molasses, plums, alcohol warmth, nice. In mouth , a nice bitter chocolate with coffee grind, dark fruits, powdery character, alcohol warmth, nice. On tap at Ottawa winter brewfest 2017.

Keg at Ottawa Winter Brewfest. Disclaimer: This event used plastic cups, which may have prevented my ability to fully appreciate this beer. Dark brown, rich firm head. Vanilla and licorice aroma. Mid sweet with medium-full body and rounded mouthfeel. Aniseed, treacle and vanilla. Mid bitter finish with some black pepper.

Keg at Brothers Beer Bistro, Ottawa. Cloudy pale orange colour, small head. Citric nose with lemon peels. Sourish with light-medium body and clean mouthfeel. Straightforward salty lemon flavour with some some sour winegums. Low bitterness. Unusually true-to-style gose. It needs more life in form of malt softness to take the next step.

Enjoyed at the Loft. Pours a real dark brown colour, almost black with a warm light beige cap, long lasting and creamy lacing. Roasted malt nose with hints of chocolate and coffee. Dark malt taste with fruity notes. The roastiness and mild hops lingers. Decent sweetness from the mild, but not overly. Good roasted stout.

A hazed golden Weisse with a very thin white head. In aroma, sweet fruity malt with light lactic notes, lemon juice, light mineral notes, fruity esters, pleasant. In mouth, a nice tart sweet fruity malt with light Brett, cave, light cork, light cherry notes, pleasant. Cask at Caskapalooza Ottawa 2016.
