Description
The Obergärige Hausbrauerei Uerige (top-fermented craft brewery) is not a museum, but an exceedingly modern food business where a craft rich in centuries of tradition is carried out. It goes without saying that the Reinheitsgebot, or Purity Law dating from 1516, is still adhered to, because its results are good and lasting, relying, as it does, on nature as one of its main factors. Which is exactly what we do, too: our yummy droplet is made of nothing but water, barley, wheat malt, and our Uerige yeast.

0.33 l bottle from 'Brauart', best before June 2026. Hazy, dark orangeish amber with a medium large, frothy, slowly diminishing, off-white head. Sweetish, slightly sourish, quite fruity aroma of lemonade and light grains. Quite sweet, moderately bitter, slightly sourish, rather fruity taste of lemonade, lemon juice, some grains and traces of caramel, followed by a short, moderately bitter, slightly tartish finish. Medium body, minimally astringent and gently effervescent mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Pleasant Radler.

Clear darker amber with a foamy fluffy head. Metal, roasted malt, some caramel, iron, grapefruit zest. Metallic bitterness, some malty sweetness. Medium to light bodied, oily watery texture, lively carbonated, dry metallic malty roasty bitter finish. A tasty Altbier!

Malty, nice mouth feel, but I couldn’t get past the distinct cough syrup flavor

2012. Finally found a bottle! In the US, of course, since that's where most of them are sent. Good, a bit oxidized. Very dark, thick, some licorice. My uncle said it was his first beer since age 14 and he'll never have another one 😆

Bottled. Wow, altbiers always sort of amaze me, it’s like what the helll is this supposed to taste like? Dark brown lots of head, weird alty taste. How did those dusseldorfers come up with this?
