Description
The Obergärige Hausbrauerei Uerige (top-fermented craft brewery) is not a museum, but an exceedingly modern food business where a craft rich in centuries of tradition is carried out. It goes without saying that the Reinheitsgebot, or Purity Law dating from 1516, is still adhered to, because its results are good and lasting, relying, as it does, on nature as one of its main factors. Which is exactly what we do, too: our yummy droplet is made of nothing but water, barley, wheat malt, and our Uerige yeast.

Bottle. Love these kind of bottles. I’m sure it leads to a higher cost. Still, it is an excellent beer. At 4.7% it is the best tasting lower alcohol beers I have ever had. Highly recommend it.

Bottle, courtesy of Erzengel, shared with Undos and Gabor at Ganz. Pours a deeper copper, almost brown with tan head. Nose is cocoa, light chocolate notes, roasted malts, toffee and caramel. Taste is sweet malty, showing caramel, toasted and roasted malts, light chocolate and biscuits with little to no bitterness. Closes with a long lastin, malty finish, has a big body and soft carbonation. Lovely, thanks Gabriel for making it possible for me to try this classic!

This bottle is coming from Tanta Emmen, Paris. Best before 06/24. Opening this old style bottle, yesrerday, at night, on the balcony, coming from Luzern. Classical altbier, really enjoyable way to brew. This one was light, a bit watery, dry, toffee, hop.

Very dark cloudy brown, medium beige head. Dark, caramel aroma, big bready boozy malts. Dark roast, and nutiness. This is very similar to a big thick syrupy e glish barley wine. The finish is medium bitter, with an interesting unexpected pine resin flavor. A great sipper.
