Yes, it tastes bitter. But doesn’t resemble what I think of as a typical English bitter. Some very funky earthy flavours going on. You need to be open minded. Just hope they don’t go change the Untappd style classification!! 😔

Bottle drunk at home watching Umbrella Academy, which is decidedly quirky. The show I mean. The beer is silky dark brown with a light brown head, very smooth roasted malt and coffee nose. Relatively sweet, dark and toasty but with caramel malt taste, a bit of that freshly-brewing dark beer smell. Not too complex but very tasty and drinkable.

Time to clear out the last of last year’s batch before the new ones come. Dark brown with sediment and a foaming, light brown head. Aroma of toffee, cola, berries, and ash. Taste is the highlight—burnt bitter with a faint, fruity sourness underneath. Medium bodied with an aggressive, fizzy carbonation that’s out of place. Flawed but not unpleasant.

A very dark brown beer with a beige head. Aroma of roasted dark malt, nuts, scented hops. Taste of intense caramelized malt, hazelnuts, bread, spicy and resinous bitter hops.

Dunkler, leicht süßer und vor allem sehr röstiger Beginn. Herb-röstig im Mittelteil, angenehm hopfig, moderat bitter, langer Nachhall. Konstante Aromatik, gut. 8/11/10/10//10

Bottle from Craftbeer Shop. Hazy golden, lively carbonation, big white lacing head. Light clayish fruity yeast aroma, citric hops, medium body, dry minerals, spices, pleasant chewiness, sparkly fermented fruit finish.

330ml bottle. Cloudy, brown colour with slightly late awakening, small, creamy, fading, off-white to beige head. Caramel malty and slightly spicy malty, tannic, minimally woody aroma, notes of caramel, oak, rum, molasses, some alcohol. Taste is alcoholic, tannic, woody, caramel malty basis without residual sweetness, hints of rum, molasses, alcohol, oak.
Viscous texture, smooth, minimally cloying palate, fine, dense, mildly prickly carbonation.
Boozy, imbalanced, tannic, thereby rather monotonous; nice mouthfeel, though - disappointing.
