2008 bottle@ DTS. Caramel, licorice, peanut butter and cinnamon in the aroma. Sweet sugary flavor with hints of strawberry and peanut butter. There is nothing really much to compensate the sweetness, except some pear and maybe a bit of roast. Below Oelfabrikken average.

Swing top bottle from thewolf, thanks! Almost black colored. Beechwood smoke aroma with pineapple. Malty, sweetish flavor with licorice and beechwood smoke. Some dark chocolate. Rich, smoky brew. Tasty, interesting and satisfyingly balanced.

Bottle @ LCRBM 2008. Cinnamon, anis and pepper in the aroma. Licorice. Sweet, spicy flavor with anis and notes of henoy. Not bad, but spiced beers will never become my favorite brews. 2008 bottle, tasted @ home, dec 2012. Dark brown color. Apple syrup and licorice in the aroma. Malty sweet flavor with hints of roast, apple syrup, anis and licorice. Low on carbon. Soft sherry notes.

Bottle @ LCRBM 2008. Orange blonde. Tangerine and mandarine curacao in the aroma. Sweet, sugary flavor with tangerine, grapefruit, flowery and citric hops. Mighty alcoholic for its modest ABV. Quite likeable beer.

Many many thanks to Kolschtrinker for this sample! Pours dark, brown ubbles. Aroma is woody, leathery, roast. taste presents woody, leather forest leaves, toasted oak, ashtray, moderate roast with a gentle peat influence. Pretty complex, certainly doesn't seem like the 14 years aging has mellowed it much. No oxidisation either. Very good.

Rauchig malziger Beginn mit viel Holz, erkennbare Oxidation, noch wenig ausgeprägt. Mild alkoholischer Mittelteil, Rauch, Vanille, etwas Schokolade. Cremig, milde Süße, weiche Herbe.
