Bottle, 75cl corked. Two years past BB-date. It pours a slightly hazy, sparkling golden body with a gigantic creamy off-white head. Fine lacings left. Slightly cellary or corked on the nose, with pale malt, fruityness, some citrus hints and spices and a little piney note. Well hidden alcohol. Warming, effervescent and full-bodied. Slightly cellar-like flavor too, with citrusy, piney hops, some bitterness balancing the white sugar sweetness, and a herbal touch. Pale malts as well. Also something reminiscent of dried apricots. Lasting finish with good warmth and a fine bitterness. It’s probably better when fresh, but the two extra years of cellaring sure as hell didn’t ruin it. Rating: 7-4-8-4-16-3.9. (090410)

Bottled, 0.33. A cloudy, orange beer with lots of floaties, and a huge, dense, lasting off-white head. Nice, sweet nose with oranges and spices. Sweet flavor with orange-peel, both fresh and dried fruits and black tea. Fullbodied, quite gassy beer, almost sticky mouthfeel. The finish is long, with bitterness, warming alcohol and spices. I love Het Anker. (061130)

75 cL bottle. Pours deeply amber with creamy light brown head. Smell is dry and liquorice with spice elements. Taste is very dry with dominating liquorice notes, hops, malts, a bit of yeast and some caramel but with complete absence of sweetness. Alcohol is hidden deeply beneath. I miss the sweetness to give a perfect balance.

Biggish offwhite head over dark red body. Deep, sharpish banana aroma with notes of licorice and spice, and, very faintly, traces of alcohol. Taste is again a deep, sharpish, harmonic mix of banana and licorice with bread, yeast, and peppery spice notes. Very complex. Smooth mouthfeel. Dry, peppery licorice aftertaste with yeast notes. Quite a bit of alcohol heat. (0.33l bottle.)

Bottle: Pored a hazy red with a off white creamy colored head. Aroma was that full of berry, mostly rasberry to my nose. Awesome fruit blast of rasberry and finished with malt flavor.

Very dark brown beer with red highlights, nearly no head. Strange, chemical-like nose, like somebody tried to make liquorice sweet in a reaction vat. A very slight background of a very sweet, cognac-based liqueur. A slight sourish, and human sweet flavour surrounding more malty flavours, liquorice, finishing very light. A bit empty, certainly in the ending, and certainly non-satisfying for ’t Anker. Where’s the thick raisin-and-brandy filled beer?

Bottle. Creamy of-white excellent fully lasting head. Wonderfull clear dakramber colour. Powerfull complex aroma, strange acetic flavor that hides the christmas spices. Very creamy palate. I wouldnt drink this for christmas

Bottle. Medium head with medium duration. Color is dark amber. Aroma and taste are sour sweet with some orange and cinnamon.

330ml bottle from Vinmonopolet (Harstad). Nice beige-yellow foam over a hazy, dark orange body. Candy sweet smell dominated by anise. There is also good amounts of anise in flavour. Hints of sweet, ripe citrus fruits remain in the background. A bit port-like impression. Aftertaste of yeast and warming alcohol. Almost full mouthfeel, but gets a bit too sweet and carbonated (13.12.2006).
