Really old bottle, possibly 2015, from Utobeer, shared with Dad and James, 15th March 2026. Pours black and thick. Aroma has coffee and roasted malts, liquorice. Taste is still fine, coffee, chocolate, I don’t pick up almonds. Good and has stood the best of time

This big bottle is coming from the sterk Amsterdam, during my 2018 trip there. Time to enjoy it, to drink it quietly, really smooth, toffee, vanilla, roasted malt, coffee, sweet and more dry, depending the moment, boozy, discreet touch of bitterness, hop, 18.08.25, at Epalinges.

Pours dark brown with a light brown head. Aroma of yeast, spice, some dark malts. Taste has full bodied malt, coffee notes, some nutmeg and cinnamon. Palate has yeast, iron notes, more roasted malt. Good.

Can to tulip.
Appearance: black in the pour and black in the glass with a finger and a half's worth of tan foamy head which took it's time to dissipate then leave some light lace
Aroma: milk chocolate, honey, chili peppers, smoky, dark chocolate, coffee roast and an ever so slight touch of citrusy character
Flavor: meshes the prior noted aromas to a fine sweet to smoky to roasty and spicy quality; finishes leaning into the sweet, roasty, smoky and spicy aspects
Texture: medium bodied, surely this is a sipper!; some smoothness but also some dryness and a light chili spiciness rolling along to punch my tongue as I expected it to
Overall: what a stout to have for my last beer review of Evil Twin (or for now at least), I believe I would eventually come back to this and possibly try some of the other ludicrous concoctions they come up with. Cheers Evil Twin, until later on down the road.

Can to tulip.
Appearance: black in the pour and black in the glass with a finger's worth of eggshell white foamy head which took it's time to dissipate and once it did light lace clung to the glass
Aroma: big roasty coffee tones and grapefruity to mixed citrusy hops, light sweet wafer malt backbone
Flavor: melds the prior noted aromas together in a roasty to vibrant hoppy bitter quality; finishes the same way
Texture: medium bodied, surely a sipper; light smoothness and the usual palate wrecking capabilities of a black IPA swooping in to slay the tongue
Overall: very nicely done black IPA I wouldn't mind coming back to.

Can to snifter.
Appearance: poured black and was black in the glass with a finger and a quarter of tan foamy head which dissipated nicely to leave some light lace
Aroma: molasses, toasted pecans, butterscotch, milk chocolate, vanilla, dark fruits, touch of booze and a light coffee roastiness
Flavor: melds the prior noted aromas to a fine roasty to sticky sweet to toasty nutty quality; finishes the same way
Texture: medium bodied, surely a sipper; gentle smoothness with a sturdy stickiness on the tongue (but that was expected - so no harm no foul)
Overall: a very nicely decadent stout, surely I would want another but that might mean getting diabetes.

Can to tulip.
Appearance: milky yellow cloudiness with a two finger white foamy head which dissipated nicely to leave some light lace
Aroma: light apricot to peachy to mixed tropical fruity hops with a ton of sweet creamy/lactose/vanilla character
Flavor: meshes the prior noted aromas to a sweet creamy mixed fruit cup character; finishes the same way
Texture: medium bodied, leaning towards being a sipper; very smooth along the tongue
Overall: though I'm not truly sold on the "milkshake IPA," I believe this is one of the better ones on the market. I believe I could return to this.

Can to stange.
Appearance: glossy yellow to orange blurriness; a quarter finger of white foamy head sat for a New York minute then dissipated to leave some light lace
Aroma: some tart and sweet passion fruit, subtle funk, low riding sour/lacto accent; light lemon tart and sour tones and acidity
Flavor: meshes the prior noted aromas to a fine funky to sour to tart fruity quality; finishes passion fruity tart & sweet with lemon acidic tones
Texture: light bodied, sessionable; not as smooth as I was hoping for as plenty of sour to tart features seem to embrace the tongue more than I thought (almost not offensive), hmmmm...
Overall: well, I kinda feel like this was tracking a little bit but I never got the sour-ed wheat character.

Can to tulip.
Appearance: pure black in the pour and in the glass with a finger's worth of khaki foamy head which dissipated nicely to leave some light lace
Aroma: dark chocolate, milk chocolate, black coffee, light vanilla; roasty tones and light woody/barrel spices
Flavor: blends the prior noted aromas to a fine roasty to sweet to bitter quality; finishes semi-smooth with a dry edge of the woody/barrel accent along with some deep chocolate mix
Texture: medium bodied, surely a sipper; some smoothness but also some dryness rubbing the tongue
Overall: for the most part, I'd say this was a pretty nicely done impy stout worth coming back to!

Can to stange.
Appearance: blurry blue to purple-ish hued with a two and a half fingers of white foamy head that dissipated nicely to leave some light lace
Aroma: blueberry tart and sweet tones; sweet wheat, subtle lemon notes, and a touch of hay
Flavor: wraps up the prior noted aromas but leaves out that hay part and adds in a little bit of salt and so we have a blueberry tart ale that finishes slightly salty
Texture: light to medium bodied, somewhat sessionable, some smoothness but also light tart assertiveness slapping the tongue
Overall: okay, so not a true gose more of blueberry tart ale with salt added to it. Got it, I'd still have again despite the gose qualities being stifled.
