Can. Oily looking black - brown beer, small bubbly tan head. Softish palate, a mild viscosity. Reasonable fine carbonation on the back end which is fine and dandy for a brew like this. Smooth dark malts, nice dark malt cream, mild chocolate. The port barrel brings a light wet wood, tastes like a cork from a nice vintage port. Nice red berries and black berries and a little alcohol punch. Airy finish. Delicious. Port barrel done right.

Clear, bright, dark a,ber brown colour with a medium tall brown head; faint aroma of plum compote, roast, watery palate as common in this style; dry flavor with a long, medium bitter finish. Better than most of the style.

16 oz can. Aroma has notes of coffee, dark bread, coconut, cigar ash, pouch tobacco. Pours like used motor oil with a one finger dark tan head with excellent retention. Taste is balanced—moderately sweet with plenty of bitterness as counterpoint. Very roasty. Packed with flavor—coffee, dark bread, dark chocolate, dried fruit.

Appearance: chill hazed over orangey color with a finger and a quarter of white foamy head which settled off at a moderate pace then left some bubbly lace
Aroma: grapefruity to mixed citrusy hop scents with a little backing of some orangey bitter hop tones
Flavor: combines the prior noted aromas to a bittersweet sort of quality; finishes somewhat orangey and citrusy rind-like bitterness
Texture: light to medium bodied; sessionable; some smoothness and a light note of hop spice trying to clamp into the tongue (mostly non-bothersome), low-ish carb level
Overall: seems to work for the most part as a NEPA. Perhaps again.

Pour is a used motor oil black with a large tan head that goes away to nothing quickly. Aroma is an intense charred malt. Almost espresso coffee. Flavor is a little less the the aroma let on. A nice char is left on the tongue but this ends up being a bit thin. The look and aroma are worth it alone for this beer. Found in a bargain bin for $2 a can.

Pours celadon-puke tinged mahogany into a tulip. Dirty purple head recedes to nothing. Grape soda aromas. Soft, flat and sickeningly sweet with grape lollipop and soda front to back. Tart grape finish. OK if grape Jolly Ranchers are your thing, but made my teeth hurt.

Draft at Cranbury Inn, 5/23/26 (16 Year Anniversary Edition). Hazy orange color with a white head and heavy lacework. Apricot, peach, papaya, mango, passion fruit. Very sweet, almost sticky. Flavorful. Could use a little bitterness, but still very good.

Canned 473ml. -at Goblet Zagreb. Black coloured, medium sized brownish head, chocolate and mild peanut butter in the nose. Roasted malt, strong cinnamon, chocolate, discreet peanut butter and touch of alcohol with light cocoa in the finish. Pleasant but not so complex.
