THANK YOU RB PEOPLE! Sampled draft @ Hoppy Days! Hazy golden, orange, creamy white. Nose is mellow pepper, hay, some sugar, tad white bread. Taste is mellow sweet honey, sugar, malt, some candy, hay. Sweet malt body. This one is a bit too sweet but it’s okay, drinks reasonably well.

THANK YOU RB PEOPLE! Sampled draft @ Hoppy Days! Black, creamy tanned head, lacing. Nose is sweet chocolate syrup, artificial chocolate, jam, low licorice bitterness. Taste is cheap chocolate syrup, licorice, blueberry, some bitterness but not much. Cheap chocolate body. Chocolate etc. taste a bit cheap but its pleasant, some neat blueberry & licorice interplay. Decent bitterness.

THANK YOU RB PEOPLE! Sampled draft @ Hoppy Days! Deep amber, creamy white head. Nose is mellow barn hay hop, white pepper, hay, caramel. Taste is mellow caramel, malt, touch complimentary butter, toffee, butterscotch, white pepper & complimentary burlap sack hops,.. body is butterscotch & toffee. Sweeter than it probably should be for the style but the toffee & butterscotch notes are pleasant, drank decently, not bad.

THANK YOU RB PEOPLE! Sampled draft @ Hoppy Days! Pale clear citrus, creamy white head. Nose is sweet milky, white sugar, citrus, sweet malts. Taste is too big on milky sweetness, white sugar, sweet white bread, grain. Overly sweet, sugar & milky body. Not getting brett here to be honest (which was promissed in the description at the bar), bit bland & sweet overall.

From tap at Hoppy Days. Lightly lacing, snow white head, golden blonde robe with greenish hue. Very dank aroma (my fellow taster describing it as ’sexual’...) with hints of stale sweat, fermenting hay, overripe watermelon, moldy grapefruit, marihuana, tropical flowers. Fruity taste, restrained green banana sweetishness, gooseberry sourishness, softish carbo, smooth grainy body, aromatically hoppy finish, grapefruity and floral. ’Heavy’ in aroma and flavor yet light in alcohol: this is a very expressive example of its style.

Draught at Hoppy Days, Amsterdam. Lacing, moussy, off-white head, clear pale blonde robe with greenish hue. Aroma of gooseberry, Zespri kiwi (and in fact actual kiwi has apparently been used!), white pepper, sourdough, passion fruit, green banana. Some pear and kiwi as well as subdued banana in the onset, softish carbo, grainy and slightly bready malt body, smooth mouthfeel, sourish hint accompanying the whole (I suppose this represents the kiwi again), mildly peppery and earthy hop bitterish finish; Brettanomyces effects remain limited to an onsetting earthiness but I am confident that this will become ever more interesting after some months or even years of cellaring. Interesting combination of different elements, this Pontino brewery kept surprising me.

Draught at Hoppy Days, Amsterdam. Very thick, lacing, dense and clearly hops-enhanced, beaten egg-like head, hazy peach blonde with orange hue. Aroma of white pepper, dried orange peel, parsley, jute, toast, dried apricot, wormwood, sourdough. Restrained fruitiness in the mouth, dried apricot, light sourish edge, bready malt body, yeasty, ending in a very long, uncompromising, completely drying, earthy hop bitterness, even a bit harsh on the palate; clearly a beer that focuses on a basic, ’noble’, bitter hop taste rather than lush hop aromas. One for committed hopheads - and I am one.

Draught at Hoppy Days, Amsterdam. Sticky, light beige, stable, creamy head over a black beer with chestnut brown edges. Aroma of espresso, bitter chocolate, grapefruit peel, bayleaf, black pepper, cured meat, hazelnuts. Umami-like onset (dried porcini) with only a very subdued sweetish hint, soft carbo, smooth, creamy mouthfeel, caramelly malts quickly overpowered by a strongly coffeeish roasted bitterness working well together with peppery and grapefruity hoppiness, a bit resinous and even somewhat black IPA-like, lasting for a long time. Uncompromising and elegant at the same time - this is one truly great beer.
