Bottle at home shared with Laura. Unclear yellow color, average sized white to off-white head. Aroma and flavor are malts, a tad sweetish, some spices in there as well. Not much more to tell tbh. Okay Belgian ale, without being special imo.

Bottle, reddish golden color. Hints of toffee and malt in the aroma. Malty sweetish floral flavor with hints of honey. Seems a bit oxidated. Low on carbon. Drinkable.

33cl bottle. A slightly hazy dark golden beer with a small white head. Aroma of belgian yeast, yellow fruits, pale malt. Taste of dry yeasty fruits, straw, yellow fruits, easy to drink!

Another Vicus, a brand developed by the Vicus Genotschap in Tessenderlo, this one apparently a limited edition; at tderoeck’s place during Belgian ticks tasting. Medium thick, snow white, moussy head, clear ’old gold’ coloured beer so a warmer, deeper, more orangey hue than pure gold, but certainly not amber as the label claims. Aroma of banana, powder sugar, sweet potatoes, red apple, honey, white bread. Sweet bubblegummy-banana onset, apple peel touch, residual white sugary sweetness with honeyish effect, fizzy carbo, smooth mouthfeel. Sweetish bready malt body with a dash of caramel to it, some subtle floral and vaguely spicy hop bitterness in the tail, adding a subtle amount of dryness but malt and banana ester sweetness dominate. Very clich Belgian ’terrasjesblonde’ - for something claiming to be limited, I expected a more original (style of) beer to say the least.

Clear orange beer, small creamy irregular yellowish head, unstable, non adhesive. Aroma: bit sweet, malty, spicy touch, bit fruity, some ginger, soapy, floral. MF: ok carbon, medium body. Taste: fruity start, bit sweet, spicy, soapy, bit sourish. Aftertaste: pretty bitter touch, grassy, spicy, ginger again?, unpleasant bitterness in the finish.

Thank you tderoeck! 330 ml. bottle sampled @ “Belgian Ticks Tasting Ghent”. Amber golden, near clear, little head. Nose is oily sweet vegetable sugar, poor overly sweet vegetable,… Taste is dry messy chemical & vegetable, sweet rubbish washing powder,… Body is chemical products, sugar,… Third Vicus beer & third poor one.

Pours clear , bit darker blonde, no real head. Smell is mildly vegetables. Mild spices. Taste is spiced, fermented sugar is resulting in a thin body, and a not so intense taste. I miss the complexity and refreshing notes of s true saison.
