Description
Situated in the picturesque Suffolk countryside, Little Earth Project specialises in brewing historic, farmhouse & wild beers using wild and organically farmed ingredients from the local landscape. The brewery is small but unique, using a variety of sustainable practices to brew small batch, predominantly oak aged beers.
Little Earth Project was established officially in 2016, although founder, Tom, brewed for 7 years previous in a more traditional cask style. He was always interested in brewing more historic and farmhouse styles and decided that, with the changing beer markets, that this would be a good time to try something new with the first beer being brewed in late 2015 and released in late Summer 2016.
Each beer is aged for anywhere between a couple of months to a couple of years, so patience is certainly a virtue. With dreams of building a larger barrel store adjacent to the brewery, we hope to grow and be able to share our little piece of the earth with more across the UK and beyond.

Bottle shared in High Wycombe. Th aka to Danny! Pours clear yellow with a creamy, white head. Funky snout, some poop, lemon peel. Light sweet flavour with nips of diaper, poopy brett, ripe lemon, old hay. Light bodied with spritzy carbonation. Finishes with more brett character, some further poo, white bread. Not bad.

Bottle from Beer Gonzo, Earlsdon, Coventry, consumed at Cabbage Moors campsite, Cambridge, Tuesday 6th September 2016 whilst cooking Philadelphia luxurious crabmeat linguine. Pours almost black but peeling away to dark chestnut at the edges, there is just a few bubbles around the rim. Quite a tangy sprightly number with a little edgy tart sour edge, I thought that the barrel ageing would make this a big boozy lethargic affair (it isn’t) in fact I cannot believe that this is 10% it hides the abv amazingly well. This gets better and better as you slowly sip. Some dark unripe fruit skins, a little raspy rub on the teeth and guns, it’s a very easy drinking beer and I guess that the brewer has achieved their objective, i.e. to brew a beer close as close as possible to the original. Like this and like what this brewery is doing. A7 A3 T7 P4 Ov15 3.6

Hazy gold beer, a few white bubbles. Palate is semi dry with very mild carbonation. Thin malts. As Fin says (below) there is a pleasant ciderish vibe about this beer and it goes well with the mellow orange peel hops. A bitter bretty thing in the background. A little savoury on the light dry finish. Interesting beer this - is it close to the original IPA? Well I can imagine this going down very well on a hot dusty day in India. Intriguing and tasty.

Bottle from Beer Gonzo webshop consumed at home Thursday 18th August 2016 whilst cooking Chicken with Coriander Chutney Curry and Lol making a Dal Loz reckons that the aroma (funky in my opinion) but Loz thinks it’s really cidery but only subtle in terms of the appleyness. It’s quite flat in appearance, there are a few bubbles creating a little white rim but lacks just a little in terms of carbonation. The colour is lovely, there is a gold glow and it sits somewhere between dark gold and orangey/gold in colour. Mmhhh...yes this is funky in the mouth, I need to put some Parliament on to swig this to, it’s a little tart and farmyardy but hoppy in a British Hop rustic sense, really tangy, Loz has a point it’s like a lost cousin sitting between an IPA and a cider. Enjoying this, nice beer and a very interesting story about the brewery on their site, I’d been to the old brewery (brewpub) a few years ago, we stopped in the camper but this new brewery looks a rather more exciting project, good luck to them.
