Paleish, more golden than amber but somewhere in between. Thin head. Toasty, slightly caramelly aroma. Comes across like a caramelly amber…lacks malt richness. Balancing bitterness is okay…for me this is a classic märzen recipe but not executed to Bavarian standards.

Pale and bright. Medium head. Piney nose..on the palate the hop character is brighter, orangey and a bit piney. Malt is light, a touch biscuity.

Hazy dullish pale, no head. A bit toasty, light bitterness, drinks quick. I haven’t had all that many golden milds but this seems a bit too clean, new world, for the style. It’s not objectively bad but brewing an esoteric style…they didn’t seem to get there. This would definitely benefit from being on cask.

Dry fruity. Malty, slightly grainy. Easy to drink, mild and slightly grainy with a dry fruity and nice yellow fruity yeasty finish. Moderate bitter sweetish on the tongue. Nice.

473mL can. Pours clear amber with small white head. Aroma is slightly malty, but pretty non-existent. Flavour has stale bready malts. Not sure if I'm getting skunky cabbage on this one or if it's just Steamworks trauma.

Updating my rating since the previous one was probably an old can. On tap at Steamworks Mount Pleasant. Biscuit malts and grassy hops on the nose. Flavour has dry grass, cracker malts. A bit seltzery. Not much of the skunky nonsense I got before. It's okay, but still far from an authentic Czech pilsner.

473mL can. Pours clear pale yellow with small head. Aroma has dry grass and cracker malts. Flavour initially has dry grass, some biscuit malts, a bit sweet. Fall off very rapidly and develops an unpleasant skunky character. Graceless incompetence.

Light brown, slight haze, medium head. Thick caramel malt, and all kinds of amburana. I’ve had cachaça with amburana this assertive, it’s always fun. The base beer is what it is - sticky, limited, but if you’re into amburana finish, this does it well, elevates the base quite a bit.
