Bottle. Hazy, orange-brown body, with an off-white head. Sweetish nose, with caramel, a little sourness and some alcohol. It’s nice, but a bit anonymous for a Christmas beer. Flavorwise it is much the same, it is quite sweet and caramel-ish. The orange-peel and licorice was undetectable. Medium body, a bit sticky in the mouth maybe, but for a belgian-style ale, that’s ok. The finish has a peppery, hoppiness, but not so much bitterness. Quite nice, especially the finish. (070913)

From tap at the brewpub. Pours dark brown with a white lacing head. Roasted malt aroma. Sweet and slight fruity flavoured on top of a coffee and roasted malt base. Gives a slight roasted, coffee and hoppy bitterness in the finish. Nice and light to medium bodied. Nice brew.

50 cL bottle and from tap (at Den tatoverede Enke). Pours hazy deep orange to amber with a little lacing head. Herbal, slight spiced and orange fruity aroma. Flavour is mellow malty, citrus fruity and slight liqourice far into the finish, not much though.

50 cL bottle. Pours hazy orange with a little slight off-white head. Aroma is slight fruity orange. Flavour is more to a grapefruit flavour, slight citric note and a mild malt base. Citrus fruity finish with a mild bitterness. Nice.

Poured by the brewery at Copenhagen Beer Festival, May 2007. Amber with a short-lived white head. Rotten sea-weed aroma, and sweet, watery flavour. Why bring something like this to a beer festival?? Rating: 1.5
2008 re-rate from bottle: Malty aroma, grain notes and a little hay. Malty sweet flavour with a little chocolate. Probably helps a lot having it brewed at Herslev...
2010 re-rate: Again at 6-3-6-3-12, malt dominated and sweet with a touch of chocolate

(On tap) Hazy, dark brown with an orange hue and a decent but a little rough beige head. Discreet aroma of roasted malt and a whiff of butter. Medium body, lightly sweet, roasted malt and again these not so pleasant buttery accents while I don’t really pick up any cocoa notes. The finish is surprisingly bitter though - perhaps that’s where the cocoa comes in? Mostly reminds me of a twisted Brown Ale. 260907

500ml bottle. Clear red/orange body with a nice beige head. Aroma is malty and a bit spicy. Flavor is malty and quite acidulous bitter. Body is a bit watery and the overall impression of this beer is acidulous unbalanced. Compared to other ratings I suspect something might be wrong with this bottle. It’s about one month past BB date, but this should not affect this beer that much. Hope to re-rate, this beer has something promising somewhere.

Sample from tap at Slagelse Danske øl Festival. Pours hazy yellow with white head. Elderflower aroma, very nice and with slight citric twist. Quite twisted herbal flavour, citric and dry. Citrus finish with a slight floral and wheat like note.

Bottle: Distinctive fruity, estery, a bit skunky or barnyardy nose, small foamy layer, quite stable, cloudy, orangey coloured; sourish-sweetish flavour with a distinctive bitterness, medium bodied; sourish-sweetish-estery finish. Unpleasant, spoiled stuff.............

Bottle: deep ruby amber coloured, mid-sized, slowly collapsing tanned fluffy head; sweet roast-malty nose with a dicreet sourness; strong sweet-bitter, a bit sourish flavour; distinctive sweet and coffeeish, a bit roasted finish with some acidity in the aftertaste. Still a drinkable beer, could be even better without their "house-infection".......
