Description
We believe every liquor licensee in Australia should offer gluten free beer

After being diagnosed with Coeliac Disease in 2015, Richard Jeffares set out on a mission – hellbent on making sure every person avoiding gluten (over 18) could have access to great gluten free beer.

Like opening any business, it hasn't been a straight forward journey, and we know there are further challenges ahead. But to see the look on the faces of TWØBAYS drinkers at the Taproom, and to read the countless emails that thank us for creating great gluten free beer, makes every drop of blood, sweat and tears (and beers!) absolutely worth the hard yards.

As you'll read below, from road trips to America to source the finest gluten free malts, brewing more than 70 different beers on tap, to becoming the first Australian brewery to win the World Beer Cup two years running for the best gluten free beer in 2024 and 2025, we've been on an interesting journey thus far.

And we're only just getting started.

Canvent. Almost opaque brownish orange with a brief show of bubbles. Vibrant aroma of lime, citrus leaves, grass, under-ripe mango. Light bodied - maybe the gluten free thing combats the sludge of the hazy - with fruit that just nudges into sharp and herbal. Slightly gummy. Modest bitterness. Not bad at all.

Schooner on tap at Young & Jackson, Melbourne. Amber beer with a thin white head. Slight haze, light carbonation. Faint fruity nose. Clean and crisp, very refreshing. Light body and short sharp finish make it a bit forgettable. Good quencher though.
