This beer has a copper colour, medium head. Moderate caramel note, medium bitterness, just a touch of alcohol. Seems balanced, mellow, but doesn’t seem like it pops.

Dullish pale. Thick head. Has a stone fruit hop note and what seems like fairly rich malts. Balanced…moderate bitterness and a touch of leafy, fruity hop. Definitely chill, but with a fairly big body and heavy malt profile.

The span of time from when gose was a thing made by like 1 brewery in Leipzig to the time when every brewery made a gose and it always had a bunch of shit in it was probably six months long, but what a glorious time it was. Here we have a brewery that has delivered a straight gose from that illustrious era between March-Oct 2015. They named it after a gate that probably does not exist in Leipzig, a DDR town. (It's actually weirdo talk for a cattle grate, like Texas invented cows or something). Slight haze, just a thin head. Straight gose, mellow acidity, wheaty, nice saline character. So not kettle sour, clean, refreshing. Classic take.

On tap at Ol' Beautiful, pours a hazy dull peachy pink with a small white head. Aroma brings out lots of lactose upfront, with cherry and citrus hops. Flavour is along the same lines, with lactose, tart cherries and light citrus hops. Nicely constructed, just not really my thing.
