On tap at Old Stove - Ballard, pours a clear blonde with a small white head. Aroma is pretty dank, with some piney hops, dankness, and bready malt. Flavour is extremely oily, with plenty of oily resins, bready toffee and awkward sweetness. This isn't properly calibrated. Not great.

On tap at Old Stove - Ballard, pours a clear pale golden blonde with a small white head. Nose has saline, syrupy notes, and bready malt. Flavour is too thick and syrupy, with saline, bready malt, and a syrupy feeling on the palate. Too syrupy on the palate. Not good.

Appearance - 8 | Aroma - 7 | Flavor - 7 | Texture - 6 | Overall - 8

On tap at Old Stove - Ballard, pours a deep dark mahogany with a small beige bead. Aroma is somewhat harsh, with plenty of bourbon character, some earthy heartiness, and toasted caramel. Flavour is better, with rich caramel, plenty of bourbon, and sugars. Palate is rather sludgy, despite the nice flavour profile. A bit harsh and clumsy but the barrels do impart a nice character. Decent.

On tap at Old Stove - Ballard, pours a clear golden with a small white bead. Aroma has a nice combo of vanilla, cocoa and sugars. Flavour is well-balanced and fairly complex for this weird style, with vanilla, coffee, and cocoa. Not very sweet, and the palate is quite light. Good stuff.

5.2
Appearance - 8 | Aroma - 5 | Flavor - 5 | Texture - 4 | Overall - 5

On tap at Old Stove - Ballard, pours a hazy golden with a small white head. Aroma has plenty of citrus hops, mineraly notes, and some harsh ascorbic notes. Flavour is rather harsh, with lots of ascorbic notes, floral hops, some pine, and perfume. Rather chaotic and poorly calibrated. Hard to articulate exactly what I don't like here. It's not like it's infected; it's just not expressing nice hop notes.

7.8
Appearance - 8 | Aroma - 7 | Flavor - 8 | Texture - 8 | Overall - 8

On tap at Old Stove - Gardens, pours black with a small tan head. Aroma is much like the Dark Passage—has a robust, woody roasted malt base—accentuated by subtle cocoa and vanilla that are not that prominent. Flavour is much more expressive on the adjuncts: there's a boatload of coconut, followed by subtle cocoa and vanilla, undergirded by a solid roasted malt base. Real nice coconut character. Excellent non-diabetes pastry stout.
