Description
We started a Brewery as a means to contribute to a truly artisan craft. We believe in friendship before finance and are happy to help others in this industry as we have been helped by those who came before us. We are bold believers in the fact that a well made beer can cool your spirit and warm your soul.
Our flagship Mason Ale Works production brewery opened in 2017 at our San Marcos Urge Common House Location. Here JJ “Sweet Meat” Jimenez, our Director of Brewing Operations, helms the wheel. All of our can releases like our popular Jambi West Coast IPA and Respeto Mexican Lager are brewed and canned in these four walls. We also crank out an extensive line-up of one-off releases out of here.

Tap at The Halford. Pours a murky yellow with off-white head that patterns well. Aroma is tropical fruit and white, soft, ripe fruit. A bit of tartness in the aroma. Flavor is tart/slight funk, with tropical fruit. Moderate grittiness in the back half of the palate. Rounded mouthfeel with a bit of prickly carbonation. Slightly astringent. This tastes a bit off vs. the description.

Can shared by Brad, thanks! Pours a clear gold with a slight copper hue and a white head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has pineapple and citrus with a bit of grass, growing pine and some light grain backing. Flavor has a nice pine citrus combination with a bit of pineapple and light grain in the finish.

On tap at Tap That!, pours a clear pale golden with a small white head. Aroma brings out old, earthy hops, and a touch of pine — smells quite old. Flavour unfortunately follows suit, with earthy hops, some sweat socks, and bready malt. Too earthy and sweaty. Must be too old.

intense aroma of mango and orange like exotic fruits, some malts in there, a bit flat. reading the ingredients it says passion fruit, oranges, guava.. could be that too. just associated with oranges and mango in my nose. flavor is oranges mostly, malts, faint lacto and vanilla. okay.

Mild resiny almost flowery hoppy aroma, full bodied, almost buttery. Flavor is less buttery and less flowery and more hoppy, more malty, sweet malty, hoppy bitter. A pretty solid sweet double ipa with some flavor notes that almost feel like barley wine. Good stuff

can dark brown, fizzy soon dissapearing brown head. aroma is heavy on the raspberries, rounded off by roasted malts.also notes that reminds me of anise. the imp stout part is somewhat light, no booze, no wood, etc. coffee blends in so much it is hardly detectable, the berries seems to suck in any other notes. The balance in the flavor tilts over to the more ordinary imp stout notes of hard roasted malts, coffee, fainter notes of wood, vanilla, raspberries. the berries adds a lighther more fruity fruitiness than would for instance a port wine barrelling, so in a way more refreshing, however, if this is good is liekly up to a personal preference.

can from beergium. No brewed date or best before date on the can so I don't know how fresh or vintage it is. Pours dark brown with a brown head.medium strong roasted malty aroma as well as caramel and perhaps some faint bitter spices. flavor is sweet roasted malty, baking powder like sweetness, fresh coconut juice, bourbon like sweetness, lies in a strange place between a bourbon stout and a pastry stout. The flavor grows on you and it ends up tasting like a fine-dine dessert. mouthfeel is a bit troubeling, it's like water with dough particles in it. hard to describe, but doesn't feel right. (no off flavors so the beer is certanly not bad). Strange beer. Good winter warmer.
