Handpull cask at the Wellington, Sheffield. Amber and clear after a quick settle. A thick buff-coloured head. Sticky malt, a slight astringency in the aroma. Taste has a decent little bitterness to it which resorts in the finish. Light body with a little carbonation. Verdict: a very basic bitter from a very good outfit. Clean and refreshing.

Handpull cask at the Wellington, Sheffield. Dark brown, a little translucent with a thick tan head. Aroma: gentle chocolate malts, muscovado sugar, hints of liquorice and ash. Sweet taste, lots more chocolate. The sugary taste is slightly balanced by a hoppy bitterness but this definitely remains a sweet beer. A soupçon of carbonation. Glorious.

Cask at the Hole in the Wall, Brighton on 23rd May 2026. Slightly hazy amber with shallow off-white foam and spot lacing. Zesty citrus aroma. Rich nutty maltiness and zesty peels in-mouth before a satisfying finish of both. Velvet smooth mouthfeel and plenty of body. Superb.

Chatting to a woman who enjoys hot weather for all the various hats that get worn whilst drinking this summer-friendly golden-blonde coloured brew in the sun. It's light, easy, soft-textured, hoppy, very mild tropical, and you can leave your hat on to drink it.

Can. Dram Shop. Light haze on a pale gold. Solid bright white foam. Nose has peach and ripe orange. Bit of white grape. Some light oily leafy herb. Clean malt backdrop. Taste has a little sweetness with a moderate bitterness. Drinks well overall. Maybe a touch sweeter than expected. Light bitter finish. Good. Nice for not having a Neepsend buttery thing.

Can on 9th March 2026 from the Wellington, Sheffield. Pours a hazy amber with short-lived shallow off-white foam and scant lacing. Tropical fruits and citrus zest in aroma. Spiced citrus in-mouth with grapefruit peel, and a citrus fruity finish. Full bodied with a smooth mouthfeel. Enjoyable.
