Can. Beer Central. Mostly clear gold. Slim super sticky lasting white head. Nose is big on the sappy pine. Ripened citrus. Light buttery malts. Taste has some sweetness but is mostly piny and resinous bitter. Full of body and bitterness. Drinks mighty fine overall. Lingering bitterness to finish. Class in bitter simplicity.

Can. Beer Central Sheffield. Bit of a muddy deep copper colour. Decent cream coloured lasting foam. Nose has caramel. Roast coffee malts, weirdly. Jammy hop. Some herbal piny notes. Taste is pretty sweet with a bit of a dark chocolate thing going on. Turns pithy piny bitter. Good body overall with hefty bitterness to finish. It’s like a hoppy export India porter, a red ale, and an American brown ale rolled into one. Bit all over the shop but I did enjoy it.

Hand pulled half pint at the Station Hotel, Oakengates on 8th December 2025, with Bertie, Margie, Auntie Sue, Ant and Maureen. Slight haze in the light golden body, white crown on top. All a bit too citrusy for me, this was a grapefruit and lemon leaning flavour profiled offering, dry finish too.

Kahukura is the native name for Mount Alba in New Zealand. Clear blonde mild citrus, mild hoppy-soapiness, smooth texture, hints of sweetness, but a more notable lingering light bitterness.

Cask. Canary. Deep chocolate brown. Super dense lasting mocha foam. Looks boss. Loads of dark chocolate shavings and coffee truffle. Roast malt backdrop. Taste is dark chocolate sweet up front with a hefty fruity roasted bitterness. Super slick and smooth. Bitter finish. Lovely. Missus rated this up with a Kernel Export job.

Cask. A whole pint my dang. The Canary. Clear gold. Tight white head. Looks boss. Nose has blueberry mosaic. Twangy leafy hop. Twist of lemon and lime. Lightly buttery malts. Taste is semi sweet with a clean tangy bitterness. Pintable in spades. Excellent cask gold.

Panda at home, thanks to Graham Grumbo, 11/11/2025.
Lighter shade of black with a khaki head that thins to the edge.
Nose is dark malts, herb, rum soaked oak, dried fruit rinds, spice.
Taste comprises dark malts, lick of molasses, spice, herb, toffee, ginger.
Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close.
Fun enough offering and gets the Jamaica cake vibe across.
