Bradford CAMRA Beer Festival 2026, Beer#34. Not quite black stout, but plenty of the said style, in a regular sense. More dark malty than roasted, with the latter best represented in its aftertaste.

Can. Mitchell’s Wines. Light haze on a pale to medium gold. Decent soppy white foam. Nose has pretty buttery malts. Nice enough hoppage with orange peel and pith. Bit of a marmalade thing. Taste is light sweet with moderate pithy bitterness. Decent body. Light bitter finish. Ok. Bit buttery though.

Can. Mitchell’s Wines. Hazed pale gold. Slim sticky white foam. Nose has ripe citrus. Pineapple. Stone fruit that maybe errs plum rather than peach. Clean malts. Taste has some sweetness with good pithy lightly piny bitterness. Drinks well under the 6.4. Light bitter finish. Good example of the style. Smashed it.

Can. Mitchell’s Wines. Clear dark cola brown. Slim super sticky beige foam. Nose has light charred malt. Scorched citrus fruit. Berry flavoured gum. Whiff of pine resin. Touch of creamy Sorachi at the end. Taste isn’t without sweetness but this is mostly roast and charred hop bitterness. Decent body and super easy drinking. Lingering bitterness to finish. Nice one.

Can. Mitchell’s Wines. Mostly clear straw gold. Slightly dirty looking loose suds. Nose has a rubbery soapy character with bubblegum mosaic peeping through. Some orange peel. Taste is a little sweet with moderate bitterness. Thin palate verges on watery. Thin bitter finish. Probably best suited to cask.

To paraphrase 'Death In Vegas'... "Ayida, We've Only Just Met.". Clear golden good-looking brew. Tropical fruity in a cask-heavy sense, which is sweet all the way. I'm glad we met.
