One-third, draught, sample tray at Beer Engine. Patchy, off-white surface, fair lacing, black in the glass. Roasted chocolate aromas, earthy, inviting. Rather sweet blended taste of dried fruits, caramel, earth, and chocolate. Hints of spices to a malt driven ending. Medium bodied. Decent. (Sheffield, 30.04.2025).

Tap. Wellington. Hazed yellow. Thin white head. Some Hefe character although overall it comes across like a lemony pale ale. Pretty thin and sharp. Drinkable but not very Hefe-like at all.

Cask. Wellington. Clear amber gold. Thin super dense lasting fully lacing white froth. Name suggests a nod to Stones bitter and it’s not far off. Light semi spicy malt with fruity semi spicy hop leaf. Very quaffable with good depth of flavour and bitterness. Solid bitter in perfect nick.

Can. Dram Shop. Black in the glass. Slim semi lacing beige head. Nose has some vinous notes. Cocoa powder. Some bitter chocolate. Taste is fairly dry with an earthy bitterness. Smooth overall. Gets a bit twangy on the finish. Not really a sweet stout.
