Cask-conditioned at the Rook & Gaskill, York 1 July 2018. Deep gold in colour, with a slight, off-white, head. Some stone fruits, leafy hops, slightly earthy malts and a moderately bitter finish. Good.

Cask at the Old Joint Stock, pre Cotts Convention IV warm up act, 23/06/18. Light black with a decent tan covering. Nose is rich roast, chocolate malts, spice, dried fruit rinds. Taste comprises bitter roast, cocoa powder, toffee, fruit cake, light black peppery spice, charr. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, light drying close. Solid no frills stout.

Cask at the Old Joint Stock, pre Cotts Convention IV warm up act, 23/06/18. Clear golden with a decent white cap. Nose is lIght citric peel, soft bread dough, toasted grains, melon. Taste comprises airy malts, crackers, melon, grass, lemon drizzle, light breads. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, semi drying close. More a respectable golde than anything resembling an APA.

Nose is nutty, toffee, dried fruits, brown bread, biscuit, pinch of spice. Taste comprises fruit slice, tobacco, brown bread, raisins, toffee, biscuit crumbs. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, drying close. Solid mild.

Taste comprises light breads, mellow citric sherbets, straw, airy malts, tangerine. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, semi drying close. Ok golde.

Tap at the brewpub. Poured a clear blood red colour with little life. The aroma is yeast, light blackberry. The flavour is moderate to light sour with a light, crisp, fresh, yeastie, blackberry palate. Medium to light bodied with soft carbonation.

Keg at the brewery tap. Pours black-brown with a dense, frothy khaki head. Good stuff, sugary chocolate, brown bread, low bitterness, touches of creamy coffee. Medium bodied with fine carbonation. Sweet finish, soft roast. Solid.
