Description

Bottle. Pours clear blonde, big white head, rather fluffy, but medium stability at best. Smell is full of esthers, banana, bit citrussy notes as well, but more likely from the yeast, than from the hops. mild grassy undertone from the hops. maltyness is low, shows some white bread, but is mostly dominated by the esthers. Taste is overly yeasty / esthers, to a point it's slick, sweet, and sticky. some Sugar. low intensity of malts ( white bread ) . Medium mouthfeel, medium to medium-high carbo. Aftertaste is a mes to me ( esthers, slick, sweet , somewhat sugary ) . Don't like this too much, Way out of balance since the esthers totally dominates.

F: huge, white, good retention. C: blonde, bit hazy. A: malty, bit spicy, coriander, honey, bread, yeasty. T: malty, orange peels, metallic, bread, bit fruity, dry on the palate, not very good balanced, reminds me more pale lager than ale, grassy, medium body and carbonation quite high, nothing very tasty, 75cl bottle from Delhaize supermarket in Oostende.

33cl bottle (8% ABV) obtained from De Bierboom in Brugge and poured into a Westmalle chalice at home on 31st July 2017. Ruby body, beige foaming blanket on top. The beer seems to be a hybrid between a Belgian Brown (60%) and an old Flemish Red (40%): both the nose and taste has a semi-tart red berry front alongside a solid semi-sweet malty base. Liked it.

Clear dark brown beer, small creamy beige head, pretty stable, adhesive, leaving some lacing in the glass. Aroma: lactose, lots of it, caramel, smoky touch, soft roast. MF: ok carbon, medium to full body. Taste: sweet, lactose touch, little bitter. Aftertaste: soft roast, spicy touch, cocoa powder, slightly smoky, some lactose again? Weird...
