Cloudy dark amber color. Peculiar aroma, a bit sour and fruity. Sweet, full bodied, mellow, raisins, fruits, like a Christmas Pudding, spices. Excellent.

Dark amber color. Medium caramel aroma, with a light fruitness similar to apples. Good caramel flavor, sweet, round mouthfeel, lightly fruity, with a perfect balance with bitterness. Very good.

Dark amber color. Quite malty aroma. Very round taste, some sweetness, very good malt, lightly fruity (the yeast, I guess), sweet caramel, the bitterness tries to rise at the end. Excellent.

Dark amber color to brown, thin persistent head. Light aroma, malt and wood. Very round mouthfeel for a Mild, malty, with a fair amount of caramel, and a very balanced final. Good.

Amber color; small compact head; beautiful lace. Light apples aroma, malt, grassy; later, freshly cut grass and Alpine flowers (they have a milder smell). The body is medium to thin, this Ale doesn’t surprise in the front, but later a good caramel flavor, with some sweetness and a fruity note comes out, and the body as well gets rounder. Very good.

Bright amber color; thick head, sticky lace. It has a beautiful aroma, with malt, hops, sweet, earthy, grassy, light fruitness and light manure. Good body, strong caramel flavor, quite strong bitterness, good English hops. Dry and quite powerful final. Wow, I didn’t remember it so good!

Tiny dark brown head; black opaque body. Smell of blueberries, burnt licorice, and sourness. Taste is like aroma, but overpowering. Sticks to the inside of the mouth. Aftertaste dry, lingering version of same. Very good, but could be more complex. (2001 vintage sampled Dec 2005.)

Thin, coarse, white head; clear red-brown body. No discernible aroma. Mild, malty taste, very clean; bitter, but not too much so. Aftertaste rather dry, with citrusy/piney notes of hop (EKG?). Some sweetness. Light, drinkable, and not too boring. (On tap at White Horse.)

Black color, almost no foam. Sweet aroma, with light notes of raisins and Christmas pudding. Thin body, some late sweetness, light caramel, very light Christmas pudding touch (raisins, spices, caramel…), or rye bread. Original, but too simple.
