Description
Commenced brewing in early 2012 at Garthorpe Rd, Luddington. Moved in 2013 to 7 Lakes Country Park, Crowle. Closed in 2016. Re-opened later in 2016 after investment from Lincoln based beer enthusiasts. Opened a sister brewery Docks in Grimsby in 2018 then moved production of Axholme to there.

Cask at the 19th Reading Beer & Cider Festival. An average golden ale, with a fresh grassy bitterness and a crisp finish.

Bottle 500ml.[ Trade by cgarvieuk ]. Unclear matt medium yellow orange colour with a small, open and fizzy, fair lacing, mostly diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, toasted - caramel, dule, light hoppy, grass, fruity. Flavour is moderate sweet and bitter with a average to long duration. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. [20130127]

Cask, half pint at Angel in Manchester. Close to clear, apricot coloured body. Headless. Fresh fruity aroma of citrus. Taste of dried and fresh fruity hops. Bittersweet finish. Oily palate. Medium bodied. Nice (23.01.2013).

500ml bottle - a bit livelier than the other Axholmes I’ve had, deep cloudy brown body, thin frothy white head. Nose of rich citrus. malts and a little bit of booze in there. A strange sourness to the taste, spices, bitter oranges, sour candy. An odd mouthfeel, rather buttery in texture, the carbonation initially there soon goes. Very complex and hard to fathom out.
