About

Bottle, 0.75l, shared with David. Pours murky dark brown color with thin creamy tan-like head and sparkling appearance. Aroma of yeast, caramel, dried fruits with light alcohol note. Taste starts with rich and sweet caramel and toasted malt, following is fruity, yeasty and nutty, mouthfeel is warming and spicy, while finish is mild bitter. Full body, thick texture and lively carbonation in palate. Another trappist gem...

330 ml. bottle. It pours a medium orange gold color with a foamy off white head that shrinks rather quickly. The aroma is baked apple with some cinnamon spice, caramel and alcohol esters. Rich bready and caramel malts. The flavor is the same. Strong bread, honey and caramel along with some baked apple and peppery spice near the finish. Bottle date says 11/3/17 but there is already some signs of age with a bit of almond/sherry oxidation notes. Medium low spicy bitterness. Fizzy carbonation aids the mouthfeel in an otherwise full, alcoholic body. A bit in the sweet side and oxidized end, but still a good Belgian

Bottle shared at THT. Slight hazy brown with small light brown head. Light veggies, old coffee, caramel, stale malts, light dried berries, cardboard, fake chocolate. Medium sweet with light oxidized bitter notes. Over medium bodied. Wow, this is quite the let down, I expected way more of this.
