(Bottle 18 cl) Courtesy of Degarth. Clear, dark, orangey brown - the head is pretty much absent. Very sweet and strong aromas - medicinal, cough syrup. Very full body with odd, salty accents. Lots of caramel and bourbon notes. Out of balance and not overly pleasant. 291206

(Bottle 18 cl) Clear, orangey brown with a small - basically non-existing - head. Lovely concentrated aroma of oak, overripe fruit and raisins. Almost no carbonation. Surprisingly the body only feels medium - almost a bit watery! Somewhat salty, a bit sourish and perhaps vaguely oxidized. Great and long aftertaste though. 291206

Getrunken beim RB Treffen in Düsseldorf am 6.1.07 Fruchtig-hopfiger Geruch. Das Bier brennt etwas im Hals, wird am hohen Alkoholgehalt liegen. Allerdings ist es gleichzeitig auch zu süß, auch im Nachgeschmack unangenehm süßlich-klebrig-malzig. Naja.... Test vom 7.1.2007, Gebinde: Glasflasche Noten: 8,8,6,7,9,7 - 7,20

Draft. Copper beer with an off-white head. Malty, roasty aroma. Roasty, malty, slight coffee flavor with backing bitterness. Medium bodied. A bit muddled. Too much roasty graininess.

Bottled. An unclear brown beer with a lazing beige head - that doesn’t last that long. The aroma has very strong woody notes combined with notes of soy sauce and stored fruits. The flavor is somewhat oxydixed with notes of soy sauce, wood, and caramel.

Bottled. A deep red beer with no head. The aroma is very sweet with strong notes of caramel and soy sauce, as well as light notes of oxidation. The flavor is very powerful with strong notes of soy sauce and oxidation, as well as alcohol, that burns on the tongue. A bit too overwhelming, but still a good beer.

Thanks to Odeed for sharing this hand bottle from aspidites! Thanks Jake and Mike! Nose of hops, not the usual citrus, floral or pine, just hops, with a little caramel; Transparent brown with a medium brown head; Flavor of grapefruit and hop bitterness, then some caramel and molasses sneak into the medium body. The hop bitterness lasts to the finish.

Bottle thanks to cquiroga, shared with badnewsbeers. Rich deep brown body with orange-reddish highlights, thin off-white head. Strong burnt caramel aroma with potent alcohol and piney, grapefruity hops, oxidized, with a mineraly medicinal quality reminding BNB of Flintstones vitamins. Sharp alcohol and sweet caramels warm the palate, with plenty of earthy oxidation, brandy, soy, and brown sugar. Tart sweetness almost verges on the sour. Raisiny. A heavy, sweet, big beer worthy of high accolades.

Thanks to droopy49 for sending this rare gem! Pours clear medium brown with virtually no head. Caramel and coffee with lots of bourbon in the aroma. Moderately sweet start to finish almost a thinned down English Barleywine.

Draft. Rich amber beer with a nice off-white head. Big grapefruit/summer fruit aroma. Grapefruit/summer fruit flavor with sweet caramel backing. Lingering grapefruit bitterness with sweet malt. medium body. easy to drink a lot of. There’s a bit of alcohol present, but this is a very drinkable IIPA.
