Description
Robbert Orano started White Pony. He is a home brewer with Belgian roots. He has a great preference for craft beer and heavier Belgian beers. The White Pony brewery makes beer in an artisanal way, unpasteurized and unfiltered. And bottles the beer with respect for the old tradition. But all this is done with an innovative view of the brewing process.

33 cl. bottle @ home. Procured from Willems. BBF 12/2017. Pours a very dark brown to black with a nice creamy mocha head that slowly sinks away, looks pretty nice. Taste is light roast, thick mocha, rich milk chocolate, chocolate mouse, nice chunk of sugar, smell is quite inviting. Tastes of liquorish, roast, ashes, charcoal, quite syrupy mixed with blueberry and blackcurrant jam, lots of coffee grounds, this sugary. Not that thick, touch lower carbonation. Way better than expected, this isn’t bad at all. Nicely done. I heard that the brewer is proud of the beer & I understand him.

Flaska frĂĄn Beergium. An amber very cloudy saison with a small head. Lots of green herbs, fresh cut flowers, saison yeast and earthy notes. Not as crisp as my favorite saisons but with nice green earthy herbal spicy taste of fresh slithly bitter lettuce, green tomatoes, green pepper, flowers (think chewing on the green part of a tulip), yeast. A lingering sweetness and a small bitterness that keeps the balance ok. An earthy, herbal tasty sison that I really enjoyed.

33cl bouteille @ RBBWG III, thanks BeerLover_Ben. Yet another example of too much alcool just doesn’t make your eber better. Note franchement peu d’influence du Cognac.

33cl bouteille @ RBBWG III, thanks Kraddel. Please White Pony, stop the race for strongest beer, it’s not playing in your favour.
