pours dark brown very small white foam unintence smell ... nice thickness, low carbo , sweet, bit earthy , bit boozy sweetness. got a nice complexity to it . this is damn nice !

Pours dark brown almost black Good brown head Smell is bitter , coffee , chocolate , bit porter in the back Taste is bitter . Coffee , some hops , some chocolate . Light mouthfeel , but that works . Ideal carbo . Nice and intence , very nice !

Pours murky blonde / light orange . Ok white head Smells like seaty malts Perfect carbo . Some dry malts , bit sweet , some corn , Realy drinkable . Quite simple , but good .

Bottle at home. Pours brown with a small beige head. Aroma of rich dark malt, leather, overripe fruit and caramel. Flavor is heavy sweet and over moderate bitter. Medium bodied with light carbonation.

Bouteille 33cl de HopDuvel, BB 11/2017. Orangée trouble sur la fin, col beige modéré. Arôme offre un bouquet légèrement épicé tirant sur un poivré blanc avec encore une fois ce côté baies de genévrier en épice. Le tout reste assez unidimensionnel une fois que l’on fait abstraction du profil épicé.Le côté malts reste centré sur des notes pâle voire pils et touche de cara. Palais donne de suite le ton avec un alcool bien présent qui fini par dominer. Retrouve ici encore un profil épicé genièvre. Les épices dominent un peu avec en retrait une bière au profil belge belge assez basique. Malt gagne un léger côté biscuité rappelant le gingerbread.

Bouteille 33cl de HopDuvel, BB 07/2017. Orangée léger, col blanc moyen peu tenace. Arôme offre un léger bouquet fermenté, levure avec ce bouquet herbacé rappelant les baies de genévrier. Pointe fleuri avec ce côté pomme séchée. Palais offre une levure tirant sur l’épicé. Garde ici aussi ce côté genévrier et un profil levure de pâtissier. Pointe épicée, gingembre? mais là encore je penche sur le genévrier. Faible note de houblon en amertume et au final une bière qui offre peu en terme de retrouver ce côté rustique de saison hennuyère. Malt de caractère pils pâle sur qcq notes résiduelles sucrées. Ok mais sans plus.

Bottle @ Benzai. Hazy orange colour with a small off-white head. Smells sour, wheat, herbs, green twigs. Tastes sourish, wood, malts, also sweet, herbs. Full body, soft carbo.

Bottle at the Essen OBER Kerstbierfestival 2013. Poured a hazy medium amber with a thin broken off white head. The aroma is rich yeast alcoholic malt. The flavour is medium to strong bitter with a rich boozy alcohol slightly medicinal oaky palate. The alcohol is very evident but it’s well controlled and does not dominate. I need a bottle of this!

Very cloudy light brown colour. Strong syrupy citrus aroma, lots of orange. Flavour has bittersweet orange and a touch of peppery spice. Thick, syrupy and warming.

Bottle sample at Essen Kerstbierfestival. Pours cloudy golden brown with a small tan head. Aroma of dough, yeast, oak and light floral aspects. Flavour is moderate to heavy sweet and moderate bitter. Big caramel on the palate and alcohol warmth in the finish. Full bodied with soft carbonation.
