Good tan head over opaque red-brown beer. Sweet molasses with fudge, caramel, treacle and even maple syrup. Totally different flavour, dry, cigarette ash, cigar leaf and a finish with some spice as black cardemom. Warming up, some sweetness at last. Ashy MF evern, dry, medium bodied but quite carbonated. The nose promised dessert disaster. The taste proves actually quite good! Txs to fonefan!

Bottled. Very deep mury reddish brown colour with mediumsized fluffy off-white head, that leaves some lace. Aroma is strong on sweet malts, some liquorice, chocolate, vanilla and also some mild burnt wet wooden notes. Flavour is sweet malts along with liquorice, some chocolate, mild toasted notes. As it warmed up also some dark dry fruity notes pop up. Pleasant.

19/03 0.5 l bottle. It poured copper-brown to black body with bigger brown head. Aroma was nice sweetish and roasted malt, mostly coffee and licorice, raisins, a touch of alcohol. Similar flavor, although it extends a little bit further, to show some dark fruits, sugar and cocoa. Coffee and caramel are dominating while alcohol is well hidden, shows only a little bit. Fuller in body with long sweetish, again complex finish built around caramel. Very nice Baltic porter, very much like a bit stronger version of my favorite Croatian macro product, Tomislav.

Bottle from somewhere in Berlin. Poured a dark red, almost black body, off white head. Sweet nose, distinct coffee, very roasty and pleasant. Some raisins too. Very nice. Sweet, caramelly taste, carrying some ashy roastiness over. Not all that distinct. I initially thought that it was a bit too sweet but later on I changed my mind, it’s pretty much just right for the bit, maybe just a teeny tiny bit over the top. It’s a good porter, however you look at it. No alcohol percentage, a nice roastiness and caramel sweetness, balanced, not cloying at all. A very, very good beer and a really nice surprise.

500ml bottle. Dark brown, almost black body with a beige head. Aroma is liquorices, dry fruit and some chocolate. Flavor is sweet, dry fruit, chocolate, some caramel and moderate bitter. Quite nice, but a bit out of balance between sweetness and lack of bitterness. Well hidden alcohol.

500ml bottle from Brewforia
Appearance: Dark burgundy with virtually no head or lacing
Aroma: Dark fruits, caramel
Taste: Sweet malts, dark fruits & caramel. The finish is grainy and sweet
The alcohol is well hidden. Not bad, but I probably wouldn’t order a second pint if I was at a bar.
