Tasting at Bruce’s pad. Thanks to Leighton. Opaque dark brown beer, small pale tan head. Palate is light and crisp. Airy malts, mild dark character, some dark chocolate. Light spice and mild piney hops. Light dry finish. Not bad but wanted more from a big CDA.

Bottle shared in London - big thanks to the Duke. Pours black-brown with a creamy, tan head. Toasty bread on the nose with some burnt toffee. Light to medium sweet flavor with light toasted peanuts, baking cocoa, earth. Medium bodied with fine carbonation. Burnt earth finish with notes of wood, baking cocoa, some dried citrus. Decent.

Bottle thanks to L-Dogg. It pours near black with a thick beige head. The nose is toasty, pine needles, soap, shreddies, orange peel and dark chocolate. The taste is bitter-sweet, earth, toasty, ash, liquorice, citrus peel, jammy berry, blackcurrant and cocoa with a bitter, roasty finish. Medium body and fine, prickly carbonation. Nice balance and high drinkability. Very good.

12oz can. Pretty legit new school Pale Ale. Big foamy head on top of a hazy yellow-tan body. Clean golden malt backbone. Really displays the Simcoe hop well. Dry straw tones reminiscent of Amarillo, but with some of those tropical melon undertones that are so nice. Delicate but bold. Impressive beer, would love a six pack of it.

12oz can. Hazy golden-tan body. Foamy white head. Really solid IPA. Modern hop bill. Tropical rindy citrus. Straightforward golden malt backbone lets the hops shine, some yeastiness adds depth. Dry straw, citrus. Well done.
