Description
The philosophy of the brewery was from the start on based on the priority use of regional raw materials in order to perpetuate the brewing and agricultural tradition of the Nord Pas de Calais region. Thus, the range of ''Bières de Garde'' are brewed exclusively from hops from the Coophounord regional cooperative.

Fles via Beery Xmas L, thuis geprobeerd met LiekevdV. Het is een troebel geel bier met een volle witte schuimkraag. Het heeft een gistachtige geur. De smaak is vol bruisend, grassig en gistachtig.

Bottle 33 cl. Pours an almost clear yellow with a dense white head with good retention. Yeasty, fruity, perfumy nose. Body is actually a little watery - not much Imperial there. Some really nasty and hash esters signals a fermentation out of control, but this is a big brewery, so I'm probably wrong. A little late bitterness. 150120

330mL bottle, pours black with a small tan head. Aroma brings out medium roasted malt, lots of black liquorice, and some booze. Flavour is quite boozy, with black liquorice, medium roast, sherry-like oxidation, and a little soy sauce. Not particularly complex or cohesive, finishing wiht soy sauce and booze. Seems overrated to me.
