About
Manos Nazlidis, originally from Piraeus, created the Chios Beer microbrewery in Kampos, on the island of Chios, in 2010. In 2012, he began producing and bottling Fresh Chios Beer, an innovative newcomer on the market. It is always bottled unfiltered and unpasteurised to retain all the flavour and character of a true beer.

Strong us pine and grapefruit Aroma. They totally nailed those hops. West coast overdose. Lovely. Malts are too weak to notice in the Aroma, unfortunately. Flavor is more balanced with a rather non sweet more nutty and caramelly malts profile and a decent hop profile that is way weaker than the Aroma. So flavor is not that special.. but aroma was. Still a very good ipa

Toasted msly Aroma, slightly flowery and pine hoppy Flavor is sweet malty, sweet nuts, light caramel, subtle bitter hoppy balance. Super nice sweet ale

Bottle at Zournal in Nafplio. Pours black with a small head. Aroma is smoked malt, dark malts, coffee. Medium body. Flavour is rather dry, light sweetness, light smoke, chocolate and coffee. Lovely porter - the smoke could be a tad more intense but lovely anyway.

A greek Rauchbier - interesting stuff! This is a very nice rendition of the style - even if I'm not the biggest fan - that is not too intense on the smoke, malty and smooth. Nice.

Bottle 33cl @Favela No.17 Corfu, poured into a stem glass. Pitch black, good creamy tan head, good retention and lacing. Aroma roasted malt, smoke is rather shy but present, dark caramel, cocoa powder, coffee. Smooth taste, medium sweet and slightly bitter, malty, roast, some nice smoke (tobacco-like) brown bread, some chocolate. Medium body, oily texture, soft carbonation, lingering sweetbitter aftertaste, malty and smokey notes, well-balanced but could use a bit more zest, overall very nice.

Cuivre, col fin crémeux blanc-cassé marqué.
Arôme sur un bouquet délicat fumé, note de caramel un peu plus poussée - fruits secs avec un effet de fumé qui reste un peu discret en rétro-nasal.
Palais est malté caramel, léger sucre résiduel en fin de bouche - fumé plaisant mais, ici aussi, restant un peu en retrait. Je note une présence de fruits secs - dattes, figues et raisins secs avec un caractère caramel voire même de toffee un peu trop sur le devant et qui éclipse l'effet de fumé.
