Aroma is strong on butter. Also some toffee, roastiness and distant ashy notes. Flavour has butter, grass, herbal tones, some roastiness and hints of ash. Too strong on butter - probably I would not recognize this as a stout or even a dark ale without a visual affirmation.

Tap at the Plockton Hotel, Plockton because ladies and gentlemen a rate is a fucking rate ! 19/10/13. Clear copper golden with a good sized light beige top. Nose is pretty anaemic, light malts, cereals. Taste comprises a hint of toffee, grassy, light cereals. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, touch of bitterness at the closure. A dull bland affair.

Keg pint at Altamount Hotel. Pours golden brown with good white head. Low malty aromas. A little bitterness if you look for it. Not exciting, but better than I thought it was going to be!

Very pretty looking beer, deep russet body, thick lasting creamy white lacing head. Loads of malt and rich cake fruit in the nose, but slides downhill from there. A bit dry in the first sip, with a metallic finish. Not a big fan really.

What are you doing looking this far back into my check-ins. Also note the time span between this and my next one.

33 cl bottle, 9%. Nice copper-red color with a creamy offwhite head. Sourish on the nose. Aroma is malty, biscuits, some caramel, liquor, brandy. Metallic spirit bitterness in the back of the throat. Taste is sweetish with violent bitter finish. Body is medium. Warming, burning. Finish is short and alcoholic. Boozy stuff.

Light Yellow, Good Head, Some Lacing. Sweet Aroma. Bubbly and Sweet are the characteristics that separate it from the rest of lagers. Average Body and Refreshing. Pretty Decent.
