Thin very coarse white head does not cover the beer entirely. Hazy opaque amber body. Syrupy banana rye aroma with cloves, perfume, and alcohol notes. Also traces of juniper, wood, and grass. Very complex and quite fascinating. Sweetish grainy sugary rye and juniper taste with oily banana and cloves notes. Full-bodied and open palate with some alcohol heat. Aftertaste has yeast and alcohol. No real aftertaste. (0.5l bottle, Arkadia Alko, Helsinki.)

RBESG2008: 33 cL bottle as Kataja IVB. Pours hazy orange to brown with a lacing white head. Light alcohol, malt and mild spiced aroma. Flavour is citric and malty/cornish. Mild spiced. Finish is spiced and lingering citric. Infected I assume.

Cloudy reddish copper color, no head, just a few bubbles. Cherry out aroma, bready malts. Flavor is def weird. Flat, no carbonation. Light palate. Lightly tart, a range of funkiness that is very difficult to describe. Finish hints at multi-grain bread. Vague spicy/herbal character. Neat and I’m glad I tried it but I can’t say I actually liked it much.

Lammin Käki is slightly cloudy, orange-brown beer without head. Lot of sweet malts, berries (raspberry and red currant) is found for the pleasant aroma. Flavour is not so great than aroma; sour, not sweetness anymore and some berries is still found. You can find some juniper at the flavour (if you didn’t know that, maybe you wouldn’t find the needles). Too light and watery to drink and stronger body could be better. Strange, potential beer what have to buy another time when to sentiments could be even better than now.

Bottled. A hazy dark golden beer with no head. The aroma is sweet - somewhat cloying with primary notes of baking yeast, as well as lighter notes of malt and herbs, as well as a hint of acidity. The flavor is sweet and acidic with strong notes of herbs - lots of different, as well as notes of berries - especially juniper, and notes of citrus and sulphur on a slightly malty back ground.

330ml Bottle - Hazy amber in colour with a small head. Malty and fruity aroma with a the juniper being noticeable but not overwhelming. Sweet and lightly tart taste with some fruit and a bit of toffee and malt. The finish does not linger too long. Rather interesting and well made.

(Re-rate, from memory, several glasses at my sister’s wedding, poured from a two litre swing top bottle) Poured bronwn and hazy. No head. Aroma was dominated by juniper and contained some sweet notes, too. Palate was medium bodied with low carbonation. Flavours were juniper, malts, sweetness and low bitterness. Aftertaste contained juniper and bitterness. Old rating (total score only): 2.5

Courtesy of fishingnet. Pours copper with thin white head. Big aroma of dark fruity esters and a load of sweet to grainy malts. Smells yum. The taste feels a tad thin with prunes, dates, figs and plums making up the bulk of the flavor. The malts come across into the finish as a sweet and vaguely grainy experience.
