Draught (Helsinki Beer Festival 2010) - Shared with Doggythedog. Hazy amber in colour. Dry malt in the aroma with some hay. Musty taste with hints of banana cake. Fairly tasty, but not something I could drink too much of.

Draught@HBF.
Hazy orange color, small white head. Very sahti-like juniper-banana nose. Flavor is like watered down Lammin Sahti: baking yeast, juniper and banana. Thin palate, but kind of refreshing

First from a plastic container at Villi Wäino, then again later on at One Pint Pub courtesy of Ossi (thanks!) . Poured a murky red body with a tiny but strangely persistant white head clinging to the edges (not so at OPP). The nose was sweet and lovely, grainy full, glue and carrots, quite nice. The taste, however, showed that the first sample was off. Only some light carrot taste, sweet, banana peel too, some burn. The OPP sample revealed a fuller, more balanced banana presence. The body is light compared to the Finlandias, which was additionally detracting with the first sample but perfectly acceptable with the other one, making it slightly more balanced but less exciting than the Finlandias. The initial rate was 7/4/3/2/8, the in-form one is 7/4/7/3/13

33cl bottle, Citymarket. Pours copper color, with a small white head that quickly disappears. Light malty aroma with some odd notes, can´t really tell. Flavour is quite sweet malty with juniper, though could be much stronger in taste. Bit watery, long slightly sweet finish.

This bottle is a recent import and I was excited to get to try it. It was served at cellar temperature. With the pop of the cap I see this is not carbonated. So the pour has no head, just some air bubbles from the agitation. The beer is a dirty, muddy, blond; does not look appealing. Aroma is actually malt driven with thick biscuit but that is joined with some exotic spiciness (berries but not cannot say that it is juniper precisely). Flavor has more juniper in it and a lesser malt (biscuit) character. Finishes light with an herbal character. Its a nice beer but the lack of carbonation really seems to dampen the flavors. I would like to try this on tap.
11.2 oz bottle in a Melbourne Bros. glass.

3rd August 2008. No carbonation. Mild caramelly taste with a vague hint of something fruity underneath. Inoffensive but surprisingly bland!
