Pint can purchased at Royal Liquors in Kansas City, Missouri. The pour is a hazy golden copper with a firm foamy two inch white head. The aroma is spice yeast esters and a grain maltiness, along with a dried floral sweetness. The taste is big clove and ester yeast, sweetness, grain, then more of the yeast and a sharp bitter sweet. Pretty rough and tumble flavors. The palate is medium to heavy bodied, fine natural carbonation, sweet slightly hot aftertaste. This hit what I expect of an American Tripel to a T, though I’m not a huge Tripel fan. Nice, just not my thing.

Total Wine & More, Chantilly 16oz ($2.50): Pours a hazy dull copper color with a nice white head. Aroma is that of very citrusy hops, but it is more like lemon than grapefruit. Taste is a bit of a come down. The beer itself is a bit underwhelming. The hop flavor is good, but a bit toned down. All the hoppiness is at the front and then it tones down. A bit on the light side. This is good, but not great .

16 oz can purchased at Royal in Kansas City, Missouri. 12 207 stamped on bottom of can. The pour is golden tangerine orange, hazed, with a two inch off white head. The head is lasting, eventually falls with pretty lacing. The aroma is tropical fruit, light resin, and a bit of toasted cracked malt. Fresh nose. The taste is the tropical fruit, sort of mango-pineapple, up front, turning a bit grassy resinous, but very gently, and then finishing with the soft clean cracker malt of the nose. The finish shows some light pine, mineral and is quite dry. The palate is light to medium bodied, fine carbonation, unfiltered mouth feel and the dry crisp finish. Really easy drinking beer, this will be great for the summer.

Can from Heritage. After so much talk about this, I am disappointed. Light gold color. Mild aroma of hops, but really not enough of it. Dry, bread flavor with very little hops at all, I would compare this beer to Summit EPA. For $3/can, I would stick to Furious. This beer is not bad, but it does not have a lot to offer.

Can. A hazy amber beer with a lazing yellowish head. The aroma has notes of straw, malt, and caramel. The flavor is sweet with notes of straw, malt, and phenols, leading to a bitter finish.
