Tap at the Napier Hotel, Melbourne. Poured a murky medium brown with a frothy white head and some clingy lace. The aroma is malt, light woody metallic hop. The flavour is moderate to light bitter with a dry malt, light watery, light hop bitter palate. Medium to light bodied with average carbonation. An ESB? I really don't think so. Way too light, over carbonated and lacks body & defining flavours.

Tap. Deep red brown, beige head. Aroma of of medicinal toffee - nutmeg, cinnamon, fresh bark. Deep toffee flavours but surprisingly light bodied and barely sweet. Dry finish with spices and a odd woody astringency that might be the wormwood. A bit vacant in the middle (which did make it drinkable and I liked the lightness, but it wanted for a bass note) but interesting.

2016 version, which has an ABV of 5.7%. Bottle. Clear pink with a vanishing near white head. Breezy aroma of cherries and tangy wheat. Light bodied, prickly carbonation. Mild sourness that could just be the cherries sets off the fleshiness well. No jam. Finish is dry with peppery oak. Refreshing.
