Bottle. Pink with a white head. Aroma is mildly funky with elderflower, cracker dough, spices (vanilla, white pepper) -- then the berries well up from underneath. Dry and slightly tart with funk, lots of spices and floral notes, again just a little berry. Starts dry, gets drier. Bitter at the end with that earthy/spiced/floral thing that elderflower does. The brewers really complement each other in this one.

A nice new world ESB with lots of caramel and biscuit and a bit of chocolate combined with bitter new world citrus hops. Slight metallic taste is the only drawback. Leaves a nice, warm aftertaste of a caramel biscuit.

Tap at the Napier Hotel, Melbourne. Poured a murky medium brown with a frothy white head and some clingy lace. The aroma is malt, light woody metallic hop. The flavour is moderate to light bitter with a dry malt, light watery, light hop bitter palate. Medium to light bodied with average carbonation. An ESB? I really don't think so. Way too light, over carbonated and lacks body & defining flavours.

Tap. Deep red brown, beige head. Aroma of of medicinal toffee - nutmeg, cinnamon, fresh bark. Deep toffee flavours but surprisingly light bodied and barely sweet. Dry finish with spices and a odd woody astringency that might be the wormwood. A bit vacant in the middle (which did make it drinkable and I liked the lightness, but it wanted for a bass note) but interesting.

Pint on tap at Basement Brewhouse, Bankstown. Pale yellow beer with thin creamy white head. Medium carbonation. Laces well. Nose is spice and caramel. Spritzy mouthfeel with light body. Hints of banana and spice with a lightly bitter finish. Drinkable but uninvolving.
