Description
It all started in 1986. Sure, many things have changed since the early days of Harpoon, but much has stayed the same. We still love brewing beer and enjoying it with friends.

In July 2014, Harpoon became an employee owned company, with 48% of the company given to employees through the establishment of an ESOP. An E-what? ESOP stands for Employee Stock Ownership Plan. It is a mechanism by which a company contributes to its employees’ retirement by allocating shares to them which it repurchases…..yadda, yadda, yadda… Here’s what it means: we are employee owned, we are an independent craft brewer, and you bet we’re damn proud of it.

In 2024, Harpoon and Smuttynose merged, forming Barrel One Collective.

Dull blond with no head. Smells and tastes like blueberry chewing gum. Awful artificial, sweet perfume. Next to that it's a thin watery beer. Terrible.

12 oz. can from Total Wine. Pours a crystal clear gold color with a small white head and fair retention. xxxx lacing. Immediate berry aroma. The taste follows the nose. Strong mixed berry flavor in a standard wheat ale base beer. I would call this a fruit beer, not a wheat ale. The flavors work well together. Better than I expected. Sweet, with a subdued tart finish. Medium-light body and medium-light carbonation too. No bitterness. More juice than beer, but refreshing.

BR#6. Lõhnas tugev mustika ekstrakt, maitse on magus, ekstraktine, nisune, nats suhkrut, vesine. IDK, väga limonaad, rohkem mõttetu kui otseselt vastik.

I dunno, I think they missed the mark here. It’s got a really funky, sort of off-putting aftertaste and scent I can’t put my finger on.
