Bottle for rating 1100. The quick reason for selecting this for a milemarker rating is the simple fact that the Abyss, Weasel, Dark Lord, etc. will be for the weekend... meaning I’m left clunking around with IPA’s that no one will get very excited if I drink early. This beer pours a hazy golden orange with little head and weak aromas of caramel and spicy hops... maybe a little bit of lemon and some pepper. Flavor is weak for an IPA... honey and caramel sweet malt flavors and a little bit of lemon and grass from the hops. If you blind tested this I have a feeling you might not guess it is an IPA on the label.

Mildly citrus aroma. Beautiful sparkling rolling appearance. Very appetizing. Looks like gingerale with fine streams of effervescence. Friendly first taste impressions. Like-able. Very good carbonatio, citrusy bite. Has some farmy attitude and wet hat too. Toward the end of the bottle there is a swirling sediment from the bottom. Virtually no bitterness but there is a subtle industrial background lurking in there. Overall quite a good experience.

Bottle. Thinnest of yellows with a minimal head and aromas that remind me of funky lemons with a little grass. Flavor is watery and highlighted by some lemon grass. Still, there is a bit of a garbage funk there that is just not that enjoyable.

Pours thick and black, with a short-lived tan head - lovely coffee aroma - in fact, it doesn’t really smell like a beer at all - it smells like the inside of a coffee shop - creamy body - the flavor is mostly dark roast coffee up front, with all of its rich flavors, and none of its strong bitterness - medium dry, though - tobacco, dark fruits, cocoa beans - a little bit of smoke and char - very smooth and drinkable, with well-masked alcohol (I would have guessed 6%) - well done.

Pours deep amber into a snifter. Off-white head with good retention leaves no lacing. Sweet caramel and alcohol aromas. Dry and sweet from front to back. Alcohol burn in the finish.

Nice hazy golden blonde coloured body with a perfectly sized, albeit fast-dying white head. Aroma of bananas, cloves, yeast and a super-strong amount of coriander seed. Medium-bodied; Spicy taste up front with wheat, malt, yeast, oranges (curacao) and a little nutmeg thrown in. Aftertaste shows more spice, a touch of anise and a little watery ending. Overall, a pretty nice wit, not amazing, but good from the Northeast. I sampled this twelve ounce bottle purchased at Oliver’s Beverage on 22-December-2008, sampled at home in Washington on 14-January-2009.

Nice orange coloured body with a thinnish white head. Aroma of fresh hops with a bit of malt and nothing else much. Light to medium bodied: nice hoppiness up front, low a.a, but still shows the hops well. After taste has a bit more malt and more of a floral taste. Overall a sub-par IPA. Decent, but worth trying. I sampled this 12 oz bottle purchased at Olivers in Albany, NY on 28-May-2006.
