Description
At DESTIHL, we brew more styles of beer because we have a passion for brewing & because you have a passion for unique, craft beers. Cheers!

DESTIHL was founded on the promise of supporting flavor and boycotting bland. We're an independent, production brewery that was established in 2013 in Bloomington-Normal, Illinois to brew beyond the confines of typical beers. Our team combines centuries-old global brewing traditions and new American craft brewing ingenuity & artisanship to produce a wide array of beers for every palate. We brew more styles of beer because we have a passion for brewing and because you have a passion for unique, craft beers. The result is a diverse offering of intensely flavorful beers that are anything but bland, from our award-winning WiLD SOUR Series, barrel-aged Saint Dekkera® Reserve Sour Ales and Dosvidanya® Russian Imperial Stout, to our many Belgian-style beers, IPA's, other wood-aged beers, classic styles and exciting seasonals. DESTIHL has become a brand, but we have not strayed from our roots. We take pride in our values and will continue to grow and support our local community. We promise to deliver on these uncompromising beliefs. Every beer we brew is unique. So, whether you share it or hoard it, we hope you enjoy it. After all, you deserve it.

Purchased from Destihl in growler form, enjoyed in a hotel room in Springfield, IL the day before the \"Fat Ass 5K\". Appearance is a lightly clear golden amber with a thin frothy white head. Aroma of light citrus. Taste also of citrus notes but not much else, slightly syrupy, just meh.

Enjoyed on tap at Destihl in Normal, IL on the way to Springfield for a ridiculous 5k. Appearance is pitch black, moderate consistency, tan head. Aroma of chocolate and light lactose. Taste is decent, mostly roasted chocolate. Decent stuff.

Tap at Haymarket. Copper orange-body. Classic IIPA. Sweet caramel. big malty tones. Classic citrus rind hop feel. Resinous. tasty beer. A little more malty and balanced new school citra bombs. Not mind blowing, but a quality example. Chewy, but not overwhelming on the palate. Right on.

Pours a dark, clear, orangeish-copper, with minimal head and lacing. Aroma of citrus and tropical fruit, along with pinecone hops. Flavor is strong hops, with a lot of malt sweetness and a noticeable booziness. Quite bitter in the finish. Not bad.

Draft. From notes. Can’t remember where I had it, working on a 3+ month backlog. Loads of fruity notes. Very sour. Damn good beer.

tap - Pours gold with a mild aroma of berries that come out more as it warms. The flavor is surprisingly well hopped, more than I expected for a fruity blonde ale. The strawberries are in there though fairy subtle at first. They linger in the finish. An okay beer.

tap at Old Crown - Pours hazy yellow with a very small head. It smells tart with lemon coming to the fore. The taste is also very tart. I’ve only had a few beers of this style but this one seems on the high end for tartness and lactic fermentation character. It’s light bodied and pretty good, in my opinion, but more acidic than I would like.
