Description
At DESTIHL, we brew more styles of beer because we have a passion for brewing & because you have a passion for unique, craft beers. Cheers!

DESTIHL was founded on the promise of supporting flavor and boycotting bland. We're an independent, production brewery that was established in 2013 in Bloomington-Normal, Illinois to brew beyond the confines of typical beers. Our team combines centuries-old global brewing traditions and new American craft brewing ingenuity & artisanship to produce a wide array of beers for every palate. We brew more styles of beer because we have a passion for brewing and because you have a passion for unique, craft beers. The result is a diverse offering of intensely flavorful beers that are anything but bland, from our award-winning WiLD SOUR Series, barrel-aged Saint Dekkera® Reserve Sour Ales and Dosvidanya® Russian Imperial Stout, to our many Belgian-style beers, IPA's, other wood-aged beers, classic styles and exciting seasonals. DESTIHL has become a brand, but we have not strayed from our roots. We take pride in our values and will continue to grow and support our local community. We promise to deliver on these uncompromising beliefs. Every beer we brew is unique. So, whether you share it or hoard it, we hope you enjoy it. After all, you deserve it.

Bottle shared with Johnny. Opaque black color, small brown colored head. Aroma is malts, dark malts, cognac clearly. Flavor is malts, again firm cognac again, light chocolate, cherries, cherry stone bitter. Malt bitterness. Very solid, perhaps a little too much cherry and cherry stone in the finish, but still quite nice.

2$ can from vintage. Interesting clean fresh permeating near pine aroma. Color is that of fresh lemonade. Head is big white and foamy then goes to a medium crag. My first texture impression into my pie hole is that has very good carbonation for an IPA; those nearly flat ones are hard to take. On the flavor, I don't really care for IPA but this one comes across a little more refreshing. It seems to not be heavy handed in the bitter arena. The date code on this if 2/25 so its not really 'fresh' per se. Either way, this may be on the better side of my IPA ratings. Not as good as Pizza Boy Murren River, Diamond Knot IPA nor Epic Escape to Colorado; but it is OK for me, considering it is an IPA. In the end, I have to say I'm pleasantly surprised and, this is even better and less bitter than many APA I've tried - so it probably would not appeal to dedicated IPA lovers.

Pint can at the House of Hops US beer tasting. Poured a hazy yellow golden colour with a thin broken white head. The aroma is grainy, tropical citrus. The flavour is moderate bitter and sweet, with a fresh, crisp, juicy tropical citrus, mango passionfruit, light dry hop bitter palate. Medium bodied with average carbonation.
