(draught) Orange corn colour; slight white head. Rather fresh grassy smell - do I smell cornsyrup/cornflakes? Grass returns in the taste, but with a roasted malt aftertaste following a rather long bitterish finish. Hint of esters. Light mouthfeel, some body from the ?corn?. Not very exciting really. Not bad neither.

(draught) Yellow to (very) light amber; small white head, very good lace. Very light malts nose, lightly grassy aroma. Very light malt taste, ever so slight bitterish finish. Very light body, but with a nice Champenoise pearling. Rather uninteresting pilsener.

(draught) Clear amber; slim white head. Crystal malts, rather overblown. Very malty taste, with peppery touch, excellent balance. Well-bodied; short malt-sweet aftertaste. Very malty, but quite good allrounder. Wonder why the afficionado's despise it so. If Palm or Op-ale was the target, this one's better. If it was De Koninck however... it's missing some Saaz.

(lagertank - 2003) Hazy orange; slim yellowish stable head. Good Brettanomyces character, malonic, lactic and sage. Super mixture involving lactic, acetic, nearly lambiclike, vinous, phenolic and estery, wood, and yet a hint of sweetness of infermentables. Huge acidburn, sharp end. You gotta love it.

(draught - very young) Rosy-red clear colour; pink little rim. Heavy cherry-gum nose, rich. Little something behind it, malt-like. Very interesting tart taste, fruity (sweet & sour cherries), nothing artificial - Brett character is not outspoken. Light mouthfeel but nowhere thin. Fruit obviously helps to fill in. Long tart aftertaste. Great & promessing. Would benefit enormously from laying down (colour excepted). I think this ought to be classified under lambic-fruit!

Deep chestnut, slim head. Fruity nose, candy sugar apparent. Bitter, from dark roasted malts, dry, taste of brown candi sugar. Some banana, but restrained. Well-bodied, alcohol very obvious. Interesting - a whole other interpretation with the words 'Grand Cru'. Any name is better than Quadrupel. Infinitely better than their double.

Dark amber. Slight amber-brown head, very lacey. Nose like a spiced (cloves, allspice) dark Münich. Taste is clovey, liquorice, sweet but balanced, nothing over the top. It's both bold - spicey and delicate. No trace of hops, but somehow they're not missed. Medium-bodied. This time I believe the brewer. This DOES taste as from another age, in the positive way. Must try.

(draught, FR) More red than brown; brown head, slim but reasonnably stable. Nose = bubblegum. Now I know what they mean by that term! Strange, sweet-sickly smell. Taste is bubblegum again. Sweet - full of fruity esters, banana-extract. Heavens! Medium-bodied. Aftertaste like some banana-based liqueur. Peter! You wouldn't get away with this in in old Belgium! (second tasting bottled) Reveals the same characteristics, only less outspoken. Apart from the bubblegum flavour, there's also a very outspoken earthy-mushroom taste. (third test - presumably draught) Special version for competition purposes? The bubblegum/banana is still very much there, but has had to yield the field to other and more different fruity esters. Still very aromatic, benzene-like, but with a lot more depth to it. Better, but it will never be my favourite.

Slightly hazy golden colour with orange highlights and a medium-sized head with very large bubbles. Smells of yeast, bananas and cloves. Coriander seed might be used as well, as the clean/fresh aroma is noticeable. Full-bodied; sweet taste full of great characteristics: bananas, cloves and honey are all very prominent. The alcohol is almost unnoticeable in the taste...which is a great factor! Aftertaste has great sweet characteristics such as caramel and fresh pineapple. Overall, a better than average Tripel, definately one of the best I've ever had.! It gives Ally Tripel Reserve a run for it's money! Pick one up if you've never had it and it's available! This bottle was good until: 12-june-2004, which probably means it was bottled one year prior. I bought this 12 ounce beer at Liqour Mart in Boulder, Colorado.

Light amber in colour with a thin white head. Orange and yellow highlights show when held up to a light. Smells of sweet fruit: pineapple, apples and grapes are very noticeable. Medium-bodied, tasting mostly of malt with a bit of hops. The aftertaste is very mild, only a subtle sweetness. A pretty average amber, really nothing else special. Best before 10-September-2003 on the bottle. I bought this 22 ounce bottle from Total Beverage in Thornton (Denver), Colorado.
