Dark amber. Chewy toffee aroma, light florals. Overload of caramel and toffee. Too sweet, and has lost some of the floral character that I admire in the regular abbey.

Amber, no head. Nice caramel-malt rounded of harmonically with aroma and bittering hops. Carbonation was relatively high which probably accounted for the seemingly light body.

Fruity (banana) and oatmeal nose. Amber color, lowish head. Banana is prominent in the taste too which I find kind of disturbing in a tripel. That and the light body kind of made me think I was drinking a american wheat (but a tasty one at that). All in all I do not think the style was hit very well here.

Bottled. Amber coloured. Funky, yeasty aroma. Fruity and very lively with notes of blue cheese. Clean hard malt profile. Notes of toffee in the finish.

Colour: dark brown with orange shine, yeast cloudy (in suspension). Thick brownish head, disappears fast in any but tulip glass. Nose: extremely vintage-wine-ish. Tones of oakwood, acetic acid, lactic acid, and esters. Fruity tones like blue grape, orange rind, sherry. Taste: expressly sour, but fades for a much more fruity taste. Tannin-rich, seeped wood, even a bit resinous. Lactic acid, hints of acetic acid. Citrussy tones, but this time more lemon-like. Mouthfeel: seems much thinner than it really is, because of high acid levels. Sharp, quasi-burning sensation, as you would expect from such a beer. Aftertaste: no new aftertaste. Vintage oak-ripened vinous taste goes on and on. Whether Peter Bouckaert does better at Fort Collins, than at Roeselare is open to debate, but this is world-class without a shade of doubt. Update for 2005 version. Very gueuze like, aged gueuze with Pinot Noir hints.

I have been looking forward to trying this one (Thanks AustinMilbarge!). Pours a very dark brown with significnt carbonation and a medium thin beige head. Aroma of burnt malt and coffee. Flavor was a lively mix of malt, roasted nuts, coffee, and caramel. Despite the nice flavor, it could stand to be a little richer. The finish is dry and retains the carbonated feel. Good, but not great.

Thanks to AustinMilbarge for this one. This is one of the better Fruit Beers I have tried, mostly because the fruit flavoring is not as in-your-face. Pours a dark ruby color with a thin light beige head and almost no lacing. Aroma is all raspberry. As mentioned, the raspberry flavor is less pronounced than in similar beers, it does taste more like a beer with raspberry added than a raspberry beer. Despite not being particularly strong, this would probably get old after the first couple. Finish is smooth but gets a little sour toward the end.

Thanks to AustinMilbarge for this Pils. I have never really been a fan of the style and this one didn't really change my mind on the matter. Pours a light gold color with a medium thin off-white head and rather lively carbonation. Not much lacing to speak of. Aroma is actually rather pleasant, delivering a nice crisp hops, citrus and malt experience to the nose. Unfortunately the flavor did not match up to the aroma. I found this to be a little harsh flavor-wise, and not as clean as I was hoping. Hops flavor was nice but there was something off in the mix. Dry finish. Okay but New Belgium has better to offer.
