Basic lager. Straw and paper. Pours golden with decent head. A hint of tang on the finish but mostly clean. Can.

12 oz can from Publix. Pours a cloudy light yellow-gold color with a bright white head and decent retention. Good lacing. Indistinct juicy aroma. Light grapefruit, pineapple, and wheat ale flavor, leaning towards the tart side. Drying finish. I don't taste any hops or bitterness. More subtle than I expected. Medium body and medium-light carbonation. Low bitterness. And the 6.5% ABV is well hidden.

Another Voodoo Ranger IPA from New Belgium, geez they produce a lot of them. 12 oz can that came from the nearest large supermarket. I begrudgingly bring out a snifter to go with this beer, usually the VR brews don’t justify one. I pour to see a pleasant looking, clear gold liquid finished up by a creamy head of unquestionably white foam that steadily settles. I lift the glass and smell citrus and some tropical and am not surprised. A taste gives oranges, a hint of pineapple, grain and minimal bit of hops. Sort of thin in sensation. My expectations have been met.

Aromas are resin, malt, fruit punch and MJ. Flavors are somewhat similar to nose. Fruit punch comes on stronger. More sweet than bitter with good carbonation. Unbalanced. Just drinkable.

Can from The Davis Beer Shoppe. Pours very dark brown (in the glass; but the pour stream is fairly light). The head is moderate and tan and quickly dissipates into a slight ring. Aroma is firmly raspberry, but there are notes of leather and toffee. Med plus body. Flavor is pretty much the aroma. Something like honey/toffee survives each quaff. Very slightly astringent raspberry aspect. Strangely pleasing.

Can from The Davis Beer Shoppe. Pours very dark brown with a large foamy white head. The head is a little off of white and it laced nicely. Aroma of dark European malt with a noticeable amount of spice. Malt is like tmavy. Arguably medium body. Flavor is somewhat of the aroma, but there’s a fruit almost pear aspect. Spice isn’t clove. It’s other things. Nice drink.

Small pony can, called a mini ripper, I guess. When I pour, its very friendly smelling sweet hop perfume. Looks like lemonade. Small scummy ring for a head. Taste is like candy of some sort backed up with a medium bitter hop substrate. Reminds me of those fake cigarettes I used to get as a kid. Not attractive. Slight warming sensations down the throat. Some co2, yet still a little mouth coating. Oh well, NB is making a killing off this voodoo genre. All they do is barely change the flavor and retool the label and away it goes to the market. I swear I've taste 10-15 of these voodoos and they all pretty much taste the same. Go figger. I guess that's great for ticken whores like me?

Pours a lightly hazy, pale lemon yellow, with minimal head. Aroma is very fruity--kind of a fake, bathroom cleaner kind of fruity. Flavors largely follow--tastes kind of like liquid Juicy Fruit gum (and not in a good way). Very thin mouthfeel. Mild hip bitterness in the finish.

Pours a moderately hazy, lemon-gold, with mid-sized head. Aroma is citrus, bread, some pine. Flavors follow, with pronounced breadiness. Mouthfeel seems a bit thin. Moderate hop bitterness in the finish.
