Description
What does it mean to be proud of what you’d done, and to celebrate it at the end of a long, hard day? What does it mean to feel like a neighbor to the stranger sitting next to you? What does it mean to know you have somewhere you belong?
After many years of brewing and the many awards that have adorned Haymarket Beer, Peter L. Crowley understands a thing or two of what makes a great beer. We named our company – Haymarket Beer Company – in honor of those ideas and the people who took pride in them and worked hard to protect them. (That’s a great story, by the way, and you should read more about it.)
We’ve built Haymarket out of everyday people – office workers and school teachers, stonemasons and police officers, plumbers and postal workers – with one promise: making great beer for great beer drinkers. It means that even as we grow, that we never lose sight of what got us where we are today – each other.
Forgive us for getting mushy – this kind of stuff doesn’t come out well through a computer screen. Come and see us the next time you’re in town. We’ll show you what we mean.

On tap @ Mikkeller Bar. This is a heavy deep dark brown one, let's call it black, and it has a fantastic looking dark as hell little top. Oh, the aroma! Bourbon! The vanilla! The wood! The nugatti! The sweetness and the chocolate! Don't think I need to say all that much more, this smells fantastic! It's softly really prickling on the carbonation this and it has a thick chewy mouthfeel. Lovely flavors, and definitely interesting flavors. Sharp roasted with loads of chocolate and vanilla. The wood is really present here and the same goes for the dark dry cocoa. It also has a twist this one, and that goes with the slightly acidic touch this has. Really suiting to be honest. It's leaving a mild warming sensation down the throat hill and a chocolaty roasted aftertaste. Really good! 02.05.2013

On tap @ Mikkeller. This is a clear deep amber one with a really lacing off-white head. Sweet and fruity on the nose with peaches, tropical fruits, mango and tons of green pine cones. Smells quite nice. It's above average on the carbonation. It kinda grows in the mouth. A bit all over the place in the taste. It's quite sweet, really sticky with concentrated strawberries and peaches. Red sweet berries in a caramel base, but even after all that, I have to beat it's quite tasty. A bottle would have been a bit to much perhaps, but this glass right here, right now = really good! 02.05.2013

On tap at Mikkeller Bar, pours jet black with a medium brown head. Aroma of intense roasted malt, rich round chocolate malt, and cocoa - extremely complex. Flavour is insanely rich and complex, with notes of rich chocolate, moderate bourbon barrels, wood, and light roast. Extremely round and complex, with so many layers. The bourbon is used to perfection, without dominating. Phenomenal imperial stout.

[5/1/13] Draught at Mikkeller Bar in Copenhagen. Black with a brown head. Powerful aroma of chocolate, whiskey and vanilla. Sweet flavor of chocolate, whiskey, some vanilla, alcohol and a drier finish with burnt notes. Full-bodied. A bit too heavy, but still very good.

On tap at Milkeller Bar, pours an opaque vibrant orange with a medium beige head. Aroma of pungent grapefruit, truckloads of resinous hops, and a big fruity caramel malt base. Flavour brings out pungent resinous hops, loads of tropical fruits (especially grapefruit and peaches), and a big fat caramel malt backbone. Intensely flavourful, with both a big hoppy and malt backbone. Phenomenal IIPA.
