Canned Feb 5, 2026, drunk Jun 26, 2026, compliments of tfontana. Thanks, Tom!
Smells pretty good for approaching 5 months of age! Some moderate juice, bit of spice and tropical fruitiness. Clean, with a healthy mix of biscuity and white bread-like malt.
Soft and reasonably juicy, with a good maltiness and attenuation. Doesn't lean in to the NE character too hard and does provide a lot of bitterness. Getting some sharp, alcohol-like notes on the end, lingering and retronasal, which certainly don't belong.

12 oz can in a trade with tfontana. Thank you Tom. Feb 2026 can date. Aroma of grapefruit and lemon peel. Flavor follows with the addition of some orange and floral notes. Soft bitterness and thinner juice character. Nothing offputting or wrong here. I just think it probably has seen some better days.

Can (2/5/26) from Oliver's Beverage Center. Deeply hazy orange, tons of sparkle, thin head with fair retention and trace lacing. Aroma is strong orange, hint of lemon. Taste is strong, sharp orange, malt backbone. Frothy texture, soft carbonation and finish as taste with lingering yeast, malt & bitterness. Might be the most orange-y IPA I've ever had. Not complex but somewhat interesting in that regard.

Reviewed from notes.
Can into English pint glass.
Appearance: black in color with a two and a half fingers of khaki foamy head which dissipated nicely to leave some light lace
Aroma: dark chocolate, milk chocolate, black coffee, sweet coffee, coffee creamer and a touch of some bitterness from some coffee notes
Flavor: meshes the prior noted aromas to coffee sweet and roasty quality; finishes coffee forward and leaning towards the sweet side
Texture: medium bodied, slightly sessionable, very smooth along the tongue
Overall: a nicely done coffee stout worth coming back to.

Cask days 2015. Hazy brown pour, medium off white head. Dark roasted coffee Aroma, with some solid nuttiness, and some hints of pepper. Body and carb are fine, if anything a touch soft. Finish is medium bitter, coffee fades a bit, allows the rye to move upfront a little more, hints if spice and strong nutty malts.

Cask days 2015. Brown pour, small white head. Aroma is all dark, strong, bitter coffee, with very little of anything else. Finish is again, just cold coffee, touches of nutiness, but the rye make no appearance at all.

Poured with large, gelatinous bits of sediment throughout. Tastes fine albeit a little bitter, but the texture was off-putting enough that this became a drain pour.
