Our Edinburgh brewery is a small family run business that aims to provide a true alternative to the proliferation of mass produced and marketed beers. Cask at Cambridge Winter Beer Festival, Friday 20th January 2017. Fruity nose, great looker light amber perhaps copper a touch wishy washy in the mouth, actually really dry finish, surprisingly I get a hoppy burp or two but hadn’t really considered it as that hoppy. A6 A5 T6 P3 Ov12 3.2

Draught @ Kitty’s. Poured near black in color with a thick off white head. Aroma has spicy notes, roastedness, hops and tobacco. Flavor has ash, malts, hops, dark fruits. Mouthdrying finish. Some citrus fruits as well. Somewhat heavy.

Tap at Pikkulintu. Hazy orange color, medium-sized white head. Grassy nose, a bit rough. Medium-bodied. Grassy, fruity, grapefruit. Grapefruity aftertaste. Ok. Maybe not the freshiest sample.

Pale golden beer, white head. Mellow citrus aroma so it caught me out when it’s quite tart and tangy in the mouth. A bit too much for me on that front, a borderline sour. Not for me.

Bottle from Cork & Cask. Black body with no head or lacing. Aroma of milk chocolate and fruit pudding. Flavour of fig and chocolate. Thin body with a flat, watery texture. Not Alechemy’s finest effort - it’s thinner than water and tastes pretty one dimensional.

On cask at Cloisters. Appearance - golden with a decent head. Nose - lemon and orange. Light bread. Taste - more of the same. Palate - light to medium bodied with a creamy texture and a long dry finish. Overall - a good scoop.
